Period Cadillac 5. 4 engine with G. M. Hydramatic gearbox. Finished in light grey with blue leather upholstery.
Originally supplied to the USA in June 1951 and re-imported to the UK in 1988. to form part of the Brian Sharp Allard collection. which was "one of the most complete collections of Allards ever assembled". It is believed to be one of only 5 LHD examples from a total run of 25.
This car was one of 10 from Brian Sharp's collection that were offered at the 1997 Christies Beaulieu Sale. and the current owner bought it direct from Brian after the sale. He enjoyed driving the car for several years and used it on the 2000 Classic Malts Rally. It also featured in the 2001 Classic Malts brochure.
The original Ford 3 speed manual gearbox was not ideally suited to the 5. 4 Cadillac engine. so the owner had a period GM Hydramatic auto box fitted and this has proven to be most satisfactory.
In 2012 was retrieved from storage and mechanically recommissioned and put through an MOT test. It drives well but would benefit from attention to the hood mechanism and certain areas of the paintwork.
