1999 ROVER MINI 40 BLUE

Rover Mini 40 LE for sale. The car is one of only 50 Mini 40's made in this Island Blue colour in 1999 to celebrate the Mini's 40th anniversary. The spec of the car is as per a normal late 90's Mini Cooper Sportpack. with the following unique features:

The Mini 40 also came with unique gold side decals. though on my car they were removed during some of the bodywork that's detailed below. I never put the decals back on. as I prefer the look of the car without them. but I have a spare set that will come with the car. so you can put them back on if you choose to.
The car has just been MOT'd (no advisories. MOT tester's comment was "she's good as gold!") so it's not due again until the end of June 2014. it also comes with 6 months tax. to the end of December 2013.
This car has 66k miles on the clock and is in very good condition. While I've owned the car. it's been fully professionally restored and painted. including waxoyl protection etc to keep it nice! Some of the bodywork done includes:New front panel. both wings. both A-panels. windscreen scuttle. both door steps. inner & outer sills both sides. door skins both sides. heel board. rear valance. boot floor & battery box.
In addition to the restorative work. it's also got the following modifications:

It's also recently had a brand new (not recon) alternator and battery. I have a folder of receipts that will come with the car for much of the above work/parts that adds up to way more than the reserve price.
The condition of the car is very good and has been maintained & upgraded regardless of cost. It's not perfect however and the bad points I can think of are:
The bonnet (about the only panel that's never been repainted!) has a few stone chips on it and could do with a respray (see pics)The paint on the dial surround on the dash has cracked. presumably in hot sun and a bit has flaked off. This could do with being removed and repainted (again. see pics). It doesn't come with the presentation case that came with all Mini 40's. Sorry. it didn't come with the car when I bought it :-(Included in the photos is a shot taken whilst it was in for restoration. Don't worry - it doesn't look like that any more!
I love this mini. but I simply don't use it much any more and can't justify the amount of money I spend on it against the amount I drive it. I also have a project mini and I spend far too much time working on the 40 and not enough on the project!

Upon winning the auction. a £250 non refundable deposit will be required to be paid via PayPal within 24 hours of the auction's end. The car will need to be collected and the remainder of the balance paid in cash or banker's draft within 7 days of the auction's end. I cannot accept PayPal as a payment method for the full balance. as their buyer/seller protection does not cover cars.
The car is advertised elsewhere. so I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car is sold elsewhere.
