FORD CORTINA ESTATE 2.0GL...! 5-SPEED...! NEW MOT, READY TO USE AND ENJOY..!!

Hi. his is my Ford Cortina Estate that I have owned for many years and restored approximately four years ago. It is in very good condition. all original carpets and seats with no tears/marks. I nicely fitted a Sierra engine with 5-speed gearbox still retaining the four speed gear knob so no one would know. ! Original engine/gearbox with matching numbers is also present and available to go with car.  In my opinion the 2. 0GL is the best version of the car and this blue. which is the original colour. is also the most pleasing colour. This Cortina is very relaxed cruising at motorway speeds with the 5-speed and being the Estate is a practical classic in every sense of the word. The aim was to achieve a very 'original' looking Cortina Estate during restoration and many many new parts/upgrades were fitted.
Sierra engine and five speed gearbox fitted-no tunnel mods or any cutting or altering were needed to the underside so is still as it should be. Four speed gear knob retained so there are no tell tales that it has been fitted.  3. 45 rear axle fitted. It cruises beautifully at 75/80 on with low revs. very relaxing. and speedo reads correct. I have the original engine/box that will go with the car as well as the original rear axle which is a 3. 7. ratio. All are ok. I fitted the five speed gearbox and higher gearing for a relaxing. easy drive. During restoration. the whole underneath was gone through. wings off to repair behind the A-pillars etc etc etc.  Poly bushes were fitted to the front subframe to make things a little more pleasant upfront. as well as new engine mounts. radiator. exhaust system. heater matrix etc etc. Poly bushes fitted to rear axle void bushes at axle end and new rubber void bushes to body end of bars to again. assist ride. New shocks. springs etc etc.  New steering rack. steering UJ etc.  Grooved discs and pads to make stopping efficient. new rear wheel cylinders. shoes etc as well as new tyres all round including a matching spare which has never seen tarmac.  New fuel tank fitted. New genuine ford rear light units.  Interior is amazing. original seats/carpets with no holes or wear issues. all in excellent condition. There is one very small hole in headlining near the rear. five pence piece size. This was as is when I bought the car and did not warrant a dramatic headlining change for myself.  All doors shut nice and solid. hinges good. windows wind up and down. Rear seats fold flat with the slide of the knob for a huge boot. !Both door mirrors have remote adjust. rear wash/wipe. Original radio. cannot remember if it crackles into life to receive Radio Caroline. Instrument illumination dimmer. glovebox light. heater. all good.  Centre console/arm rest.  Spare wheel as per wheels fitted on car.  Original jack and wheel brace present.  All gauges work as they should. sit in and hear the ticking of the clock. remember that. ??!!Full mot. straight through. Sure there are many things I have forgotten. I will update with anything else remembered. Drives beautifully. guess that's why they were car of the year for many years. !Any questions please ask.
