MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to announce yet another cult classic from the 1970s. a 1976 BMW 2002! BMW 2002s are one of the hottest cars on the classic market right now. In June 2016. Hagerty. the world's leading insurance provider for classic vehicles. reported. “This iconic BMW remains very popular. especially on both coasts. Similar to the other German cars. Hagerty Price Guide values have been especially strong for 2002s. with an 18 percent gain over the last eight months. ” With 2002s fetching higher and higher prices. prospective buyers should spend minimal time deciding whether to buy or they could be priced out of the market. This car was the epitome of performance with its then-forward thinking design.

Finished in the popular. brilliant and rare. factory correct black (code 086). the professional paint job shows extremely well. Front and rear aluminum bumpers have a fit and finish that show well. The headlights and taillights are in very good condition with no hazing or cracks. Inside the trunk is the original tire jack and full-sized Doral P195/60R14 tire and other spare parts plus the correct undercoating is visible on the rear wheelwells. This 2002 sports BMW's 14-inch BBS Basketweaves. which were painted and clear coated plus center caps. which display only minor blemishes upon close inspection and come within new Doral P195/60R14 radial tires.

Inside. the cherry red leather front and rear seats both look excellent and present themselves as close to showroom new as you will ever find. The sunroof is inoperable but the original and correct door panels and carpet complement the car's exterior and look good. as does the new headliner. The odometer is inoperable but all other factory VDO gauges are original and function as designed and the original shift knob sports the BMW logo. The original dash is in very good condition. The original three-spoke steering wheel is in very good condition with no cracks. a BMW center cap and a functioning horn.

This car comes equipped with a numbers-matching. 2742048. 2. 0L single overhead cam M10 four-cylinder engine with an iron block and fed by a Weber two-barrel 32/36 carburetor. which previous owner cleaned and adjusted. Points and condenser were also replaced. Power is transferred to the rear wheels by a Getrag four-speed manual transmission. Driver assist features include rack-and- pinion steering. power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes with independent suspension.

In April 2000. a previous owner had an oil and filter change done. tires rotated. coolant flushed and refilled. transmission fluid flushed and refilled. front wheel bearings adjusted. differential pinion shaft seal replaced and changed differential fluid. In July 2000. LF window regulator replaced and loose shifter tightened. In January of 2001. oil and filter change. owner complained of low oil level; mechanic suggested head gasket replacement and possible valve job. In October 2000. muffler hanger re-welded. In May of 2001. new carburetor installed before this visit; adjusted to proper specifications. Special parts were ordered for sunroof; replaced battery; changed oil and filter. In September of 2003. a major tune-up was performed. oil and filter changed. new front brake pads. new valve-stem lash caps installed. changed differential fluid. Final maintenance ticket for owner is dated March 1. 2004 – had the oil changed. engine checked for oil leak at front of timing cover. accelerator pedal linkage tightened at carburetor along with bell crank nut and carb re-jetted. Owner sold car in 2004 or 2005.

Car's new owner bought it with knowledge of a sunroof issue and that the car needed a tune-up. September of 2005. owner took the car in because the sunroof would not close. Repaired cable to motor but cable to regulator also needed replacing. In December of 2005. he had the hazard switch replaced and changed oil and filter. In May of 2006. car underwent a road trip check – fluids. belts. hoses. battery. lights. tires. wipers and brakes. A front wheel bearing was adjusted. oil pressure switch replaced and alternator belt replaced. In June of 2006. the sunroof was repaired and new locking gas cap put on. In September 2006. customer smelled raw fuel. Inspection revealed oil cap was missing and carburetor had internal problem; wouldn't lean out less than eight percent CO; replaced carb. Car given complete tune-up service. realigned cam timing. In July of 2007. he replaced driver's side wing window. replaced two muffler hangers and inserts and wiper blades. In November of 2007. he had the battery replaced. In September 2008. oil and filter changed and tested to ensure car would pass Oregon emissions testing. Final repair ticket – In July 2009. He had the front brake pads and rotors and a muffler hanger replaced and the idle speed adjusted. On November 24. 2009. car sold to the House of Luxuries in Costa Mesa. California.

On August 1. 2014. House of Luxuries had the battery replaced. On May 3 of this year. the car had its headlining done. On May 4. a new hood insulation pad set was put in. an exhaust hanger was replaced plus new trunk and sunroof seals. On May 6. sealing and cover work performed. On May 9. it received new tires. Unnamed. undated maintenance tickets that came with this car covered replacing a defective exhaust pipe. installing new trunk carpet and repairing seat foam.

In the late 1960s. Helmut Werner Bönsch. BMW's director of product planning. and Alex von Falkenhausen. designer of the M10 engine. each had a two-liter engine installed in 1600-2s for their respective personal uses. When they realized they both made the same modification to their own cars. they prepared a joint proposal to BMW's board to manufacture a two-liter version of the 1600-2. At the same time. American importer Max Hoffman asked BMW for a sporting version of the 02 series to sell in the United States.

This year. BMW celebrates its 100th anniversary. BMW has a long successful history in Europe and the United States. Any award shall be enforceable in any court of competent jurisdiction in the same manner as judgments. This agreement to arbitrate shall survive the sale of the automobile described herein. Buyer and Seller hereby agree that Missouri law shall control for all purposes under this Bill of Sale. Buyer and Seller hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts of Missouri to specifically enforce the agreement to arbitrate and to enter judgment of and enforce the award of the arbitrator. Payment Terms

Payment must be made by Cashiers Check. Money Orders or Wire Transfers payable in US Dollars. A Refundable deposit in the amount of $500. 00 must be received within Twenty-Four (24) hours of the auctions close either by Master Card. Visa. Discover or PayPal (Credit Cards or PayPal for deposit only NOT for full payment). Purchaser cannot make any claims of ownership to said vehicle without payment in full. The buyer has seven (7) days from close of auction to inspect the vehicle. If an inspection or decision takes longer than seven days and you find the vehicle not to your liking. your deposit will be forfeited and the car will be relisted. Final payment must be received within ten (10) days of the auction close. The refundable deposit only applies if you or an agent inspect said vehicle in St. Louis and find it not to your liking. Documentation Fee: There will be a $195. 00 fee added to each car sold. This includes title transfer. inventory tax. holding costs. vehicle preparation. storage and priority documentation delivery.

We will not be responsible for buyer's remorse or problems found to said vehicle once they have left our property. We are just being realistic; most of the cars we deal in are vintage and by their very nature will need TLC and some degree of attention sooner or later. These are not new cars and your expectation should not be of a perfect. new car. Once full payment has been received. Seller will email or fax a copy of clear title. Bill of Sale. Buyers Guide and additional DMV forms to the Buyer to sign and return via email or fax. The fully-executed forms must be returned to the Seller prior to the shipment of said vehicle. Original paperwork will be sent to Buyer via USPS Priority Mail within ten (10) days from date of final payment.

We must be notified in writing of your decision to return the vehicle within seven (7) days of your receipt of said vehicle. The vehicle may not have more than 75 additional miles on the odometer from the time it left our possession and be returned in the same condition that it left. You WILL be responsible for a restocking fee that will equal 20% of the purchase price of the vehicle. no exceptions. You will also be responsible for shipping the vehicle back to our shop at your expense.
