MissChiTown is never short on words for describing cars that we market for other car collectors but we don't know where to begin to find the words to describe this fabulous car.   We are happy to offer some of the most interesting collectible cars that a collector could want. but we think you will agree that Kaiser Darrins are really special!  Here is a great opportunity for a serious car collector!

We would like to start with the fact that the Darrin was America's first fiberglass sports car (before the 1953 Corvette) being that the initial prototype came out in 1952.   Perhaps the fact that Dutch Darrin designed it. one of the most famous designers of classic cars from the 1930s through the 1950s. will appeal to many collectors who appreciate the historical significance in addition to the great design.   We think that everybody can appreciate the unique features such as the sliding doors that disappear into the front fenders for ease in getting in and out of the car.   Also the three position top was quite innovative.   You will love taking this car to shows.  

Most serious car collectors realize that these Kaiser Darrins are highly collectible and the values are increasing at a fast pace.   Not to mention that the cars made in limited quantities tend to be in high demand.   Examples such as Duesenbergs. General Motors limited production cars in 1953. the Buick Skylark. Cadillac Eldorado and Oldsmobile Fiesta all had production numbers around 500.     Yes. under 500 Kaiser Darrins were produced. only 435 were made in 1954.   So yes the limited number produced in addition to the fabulous design increases the demand and seem to appreciate the fastest.   We believe that a collector should buy a collector car that will be loved and enjoyed but when it also has tremendous potential to appreciate that is a ‘no brainer'.

Now in reference to the very rare 1954 Kaiser Darrin in this eBay listing. the current owner purchased this car from the original lady owner in 1988. making him the SECOND OWNER!   The private seller tells us that he has pampered this car and it has always been kept in a heated garage since 1988.   The private seller tells us that the car has an original 37. 05 miles (it had about 22. 00 miles when he purchased it from the original owner).   The owner of this car doesn't drive it far but tells us his longest trip was probably 120 miles one way.   He tells us it starts. runs and stops as it should and a few years ago he had a new clutch installed.   The owner of this car enjoys taking the Kaiser Darrin out for jaunts in nice weather so the 37. 05 miles may have additional miles when it is actually sold to the new buyer.

This car of course is equipped with the Willy's six-cylinder engine with a manual 3-speed transmission. for highway cruising it does have overdrive.

The Kaiser Darrin is also equipped with the wire wheel hubcaps that were a 1954 option.   The car was painted Champagne white circa late 1980s with red vinyl interior that was done in the original style with an original top that was re-dyed.   The owner tells us that he does not use the side curtains and as you can see in the photos they look to be in very nice condition.

The car does not have a radio but it does have a heater.   The private seller also has the original owner's manual.

If you are lucky. you might see a few Kaiser Darrins come up but invariably they turn out to be “bitsa cars” made from "bits of this car and bits of that car" but usually not a nice. authentic Kaiser Darrin like the one offered in this eBay listing.   YES. THIS 1954 KAISER DARRIN IS A VERY HONEST CAR and they are hard to find.
