Austin Healey 100/6 1967 Rally Spec - Outstanding

An opportunity for you to own this truly outstanding very special Austin Healey 100/6Straight 6. 3000 rebuilt engine with lightened fly wheel. uprated camshaft and other tuning modifications giving 185-190bhpThis car has plenty of smooth strong power up to 5000rpm with overdrive making for effortless cruising at high speed.

This special Healey has been subject to a full bare metal nut and bolt restoration.  The car is now equipped with a new chassis and light weight aluminium panels all round including bonnet. doors and boot lid. A comprehensive file and photographic record comes with the car. The car was rebuilt to replicate the rally cars of the late 50's albeit it is further complemented by departing from the stereo type red and white combination of the original works team cars and is presented in dark blue with an old English white hard top. The passenger side door and cill has been modified and strengthened to incorporate the door mounted side exhaust fitted with brushed stainless steel heat shield. The  car sits on Wellite wheels fitted with Avon ZZ tyres. Headlights are halogen conversions. supported by front chrome spots and large Lucas reversing spot light. The boot houses the spare wheel over a long range extended aluminium fuel tank. brand new 75ah battery and battery cut off switch. The bonnet is restrained with leather bonnet straps. Under the works style front grill is fitted a heavy gauge aluminium sump guard and towing point.  

Inside the car is fitted with Mota Lita wooden rimmed steering wheel. aluminium works gear knob with overdrive switch. The car comes with fitted timing clock and fixings for further Halda twin master. Flexible rally map reading light is fitted to the dash and under dash heater. The cock pit is lined with black carpet and fitted with black bucket racing seats. Inertia seat belts are fitted as are all fixings for harnesses and a harness comes with the car. The hard top has a brand new head lining. is protected by a role cage and fitted with a roof top vent. A fire extinguisher is fitted behind the seats. as is the secondary rear brake bias control for reducing breaking to rear. The brakes have multiple cylinders with front/rear brake bias controlled by balance bar and dash mounted knob. Front braking is via disks and rear by drums all complimented by uprated suspension and front anti roll bar. The car also comes with a conventional soft top and separate cock pit cover.

Under the bonnet is a straight 6. 3000 rebuilt engine with lighten fly wheel. uprated camshaft and other tuning modifications giving 185-190 bhp. The engine is fitted with triple 1'3/4" SU carburettors with new chrome pan air filters. Cooling is via a brand new Denis Welsh light weight aluminium radiator with all new kevlar hoses. thermostat and cover.  The radiator is fitted with a brand new variable temperature Revotech fan guaranteed to keep the car running cool. It is also fitted with a brand new water pump. pump housing. and light weight aluminium water pump pulley. A new temperature gauge and sensor to the block along with front mounted oil cooler are also fitted. The old dynamo has been replaced with a brand new 45amp alternator. wiring and Lucas fuse box. ( All old or replaced parts have been retained and come with car). The emphasis has been to have authentic upgraded parts fitted to ensure high performance and  most importantly reliability. The engine is mounted to centre shift 4 speed gear box with sports overdrive and 3:9:1 rear differential.

This car has plenty of smooth strong power up to 5000rpm with overdrive making for effortless cruising at high speed. The brakes are superb along with the handling. and positive steering. The car has a a patina commensurate with its use and is absolutely sorted in every respect. it looks fantastic and the engine and mechanicals are first class. If you are looking for a fast reliable car. that would be equally at home on a rally or general touring look no further. To recreate this car today would cost ฃ80-100k. the car file supports this and demonstrates the thousands spent to maintain its current high standard. We completed a 1200 mile trip through Wales to West Ireland this Easter  and the car was a dream. Recently serviced and mechanicals fully checked. Car comes with 2 sets of keys and additional emergency keys. The white squares and numbers are adhesive only and purely for show to enhance its rally style appearance easily removed if not to taste. it's a very pretty car that attracts a lot of attention wherever it goes.
