1987 Military landrover Defender 110 Tithonus for sale

1987 landrover   Defender 110 Tithonus (sold ob behalf of a friend. who can plays tunes with a V8 but can't drive a computor!)

Each Tithonus Land Rover was individually selected and fully refurbished by the MoD in 2007-2008 as part of the British Army LEP (life extension programme).

The project was to extend the overall service life of the Land-Rovers by 10 years. from 20 to 30 years. The vehicle was fully refurbished then cast from service with a electrical fault on the starter circuit. Place into storage at a TA centre then cast off in 2015. Brought from the MOD as a non starter with a burnt out starter. damaged starter ring gear and broken cam belt. the sales agent had tried to start it with 24v.  

Now fitted with a low mileage 200 TDI engine.

Work carried out by Glencoyne engineering of norwich

New AP clutch kit

LT77 5speed gear box

New chassis & 300tdi bulkhead

double fold down rear benches with lap belts

12 Volt electrics

Soft Type steering wheel

Exmoor seats and floor coverings

Full size spare wheel

Wolf  wheels and Michelin tyres

New brake calipers discs and pads

Fully integrated Wolf roll cage including front external and rear internal hoop system

NATO hitch

New front wings. onnet with chequer plate. tub is unmarked.

29 years old so exportable to the USA under the 25 year rule

MOT till November

Pulls quick through the gears and will sit on the motorway at 70 mph

comes with some Military police equipment and two movie prop SA 80s (RIF VCRA applies)
