Classic Volvo 240 2.3 estate. 56,000 miles 1 Owner full VOLVO history

This Volvo 240 has been the proud possession of one owner throughout its life.

H47GTA it one of the properly built rear wheel drive Volvo vehicles for which Volvo earned their high build quality reputation for. She was registered on 12th july 1991 to  doctor. who has kept the vehicle since.

It has covered a staggeringly low 56. 00 miles from new and has been serviced and maintained at the Volvo dealer from new. even in the last few years (less than 500 miles covered since May 2013) it has been serviced annually at the Volvo dealer. Last service at 55878 miles  on the 19th of June 2016.

As you can see from the pictures it is in astounding condition for its years. and the paperwork folder is extensive. There are two sets of keys and the car remains unmodified from standard spec. This is a genuine opportunity to obtain a unique example of a very fine automobile.

The inside of this car is original and in astoundingly good condition. The seats are firm and comfortable and the carpets thick and without rips or stains. She sports electric front windows and heated seats. The cigar lighter looks never to have been used! The radio code is present for the car. but when switched on silence prevails. We may be doing something wrong of the radio may require repair.   The interior is a nice place to be. As no doubt you are aware. these cars are supremely comfortable at 200. 00 miles so this one is exceptional!

Externally is it in very good order. Clean and tidy with none of the usual filled wheelarches or aerosol repairs! There are one or two isolated corrosion patches. marks and blemishes but nothing like you would normally expect to find on a car at this age. Unusually. this car sports a rare factory steel tilt & slide sunroof which has been repainted during the cars life. but some fettling to the mechanism may be required as the middle of the sunroof just glances the main roof as it retracts. A small thing I know. but worth mentioning.

Mechanically the car starts on demand and drives faultlessly. An annual service makes these last and last. Couple the annual service with minimal use and you can imagine how well she performs. The timing belt was replaced by the main dealer in 2011 and the oil is . as you would expect. as clean as when it went in! She sparks up on the first turn of the key and settles to a nice idle as she warms up. The valve clearances are set with shims on these four cylinder volvo engines and the valve train is audible when cold. This car has the proper 5 speed gearbox rather than the 4 speed-plus-overdrive which makes for a better driving experience.

The service book is present. with the owners manual. radio manual and document wallet. There are many service reciepts. old MOT's and service cards. The service book is full!. 21 stamps ending in 2011! We also have the records from the dealer though that show that the car was indeed serviced with them in 2012. 013. 014& 2015 despite absolutely minimal mileage in between!

All in all a very rare find! A superb addition to any collection and I suspect one of the lowest mileage 240 estates in the UK.  It is difficult to find these vehicles with sub-100. 00 miles on the clock. But to find one which has such comprehensive paperwork backup and only one owner is as far as I know practically unheard of.  Vehicles of this standard are e very attractive investment.  I am sure she will have pride of place with the next delighted custodian. Some fettling required to make perfect. but perfection is well within reach with this car if you had the mind. Viewing is highly encouraged!
