1959 Cadillac
This 1959 Cadillac is rumoured to have been built for John Wayne and then passed over to Steve McQueen's collection. I have no documented proof that this car was owned by either. other than whats on the internet when you Google search "John Wayne's 59 Cadillac". I did message Brendan Wayne (Johns Grandson) and have attached a snapshot of him saying this was the car . buts that is as far as I have gotten. I sat on hold with California dept of motor vehicles for 2 hours to try to get a registration record. but was told I had to be a California Resident in order for them to release any info. This car has been in Alberta Canada since 1984 and was in a collection from a fellow in Hinton Alberta up until 2014 where it was sold at a local auction. I do have a couple of licence plates from California that came with the car dated 1963 and 1984. I will give the numbers upon request.
I have left this car as I purchased it other than giving it a tune up with new plugs. wires. cap. rotor and oil change.
The dash pad is cracked. fuel gauge does not work. rear package tray is sun faded. Runs and drives very well. all lights. signals. etc are working as they should. No visible signs of rust. paint is old and shows well from 10 feet away. Interior is very nice.
Cowl tag and vin were removed. but engine number. frame and pillar tag are all matching.
