1971 Triumph GT6 MK3 rotoflex rear axle type               HISTORIC / FREE ROAD TAX
Fitted with rear seat however this is VERY  limited to say the least.
Bodywork is very good with no rot or rust that I can find. someone previous to me has spent a lot of time and money on restoration.
I bought the car about 6 months ago without viewing or driving it. BIG mistake as Im 6 foot 2 and an XXL guy and my main problem is fitting into the car. as it had bucket seats ( look ace ) however the slider / mounting kit added about 5 inch in seat height & I had to crouch to drive it.
I then purchased some genuine seats from a gt6 and fitted these. this improved my driving position massively but facing the facts I have to admit that Im too big for this car.
You need to see how small these cars are in person before you consider purchase.
I have fitted an electronic ignition kit & timing needs to be strobed up. I have replaced all the coolant hoses as some were perished.
Been told that the hood / bonnet was made up from all new panels and cost  £1200. there is no rust. what you see is brown is waxoil.
I have removed the carbs. stripped & cleaned them and now the engine is hesitant when setting off. there is another set of carbs supplied that I have not toutched. I did however fit the electronic ignition kit at the same time. so probably got it wrong. The car starts & drives but would need a crypton tune or setting up by someone who knows about these old cars
Has uprated brakes and goodridge hoses. the brakes are very good.
The purchaser can have the nice looking bucket seats with the car if interested .
Has had the oil feed modification to the head / rocker box done.
This car was purchased from a guy that hires out cars to film companies ( real vehicles ) and has been involved in a shoot recently called RUSH featuring james hunt & NIKI Lauda. based on formula 1 racing. this will be screened on 20th September 2013 not sure how the car was used in this film but the reg number remained in the shoot so I have been told.
BAD POINTS. very slow puncture on front nearside tyre. possibly needs rim seal takes 2 month to loose a bit. Front nearside brake has slight ( v slight ) bindingreversing light not working but switch OK & rear lights okNo spare wheel but has a jack. Tyre tread is fine but when I have driven it the tail end was happy / spinning and I suspect the tyres are old and brittle and in need of replacementFront drivers seat has a crack in its lower portion / base. crack is in the vynil.
Just had an offer of 4k. sorry this wont do it as I have 7K in this car and 4995 is what it takes. no exceptions.

Looking for a GT6, i am interested by your ad. some questions: is this ad still valid? How is the general conditions about the body concerning the rust? Is it fiited with an overdrive? Would it be possible to have pictures of below the car? Could you explain further the pb about the tailgate ajustement you mentionned? Living in the south of France it is not very easy to come to see it, so any complentary information you deem useful you could give me will be appre�iated. Kind regards
