1965 VW Volkswagen Restored Split Window Panel Bus CA Black Plate Original

Up for auction is this 1965 Volkswagen panel bus. This bus was restored to the condition you see in 2006. At that time the restoration was well done with keeping in the original style of how this bus would have come new from the factory. with a couple of trim additions that it wouldn't have been optioned for. At the time of the restoration the following work was done: The front floors were replaced with quality metal. The bus was painted inside and out. All new window and door rubbers. Aftermarket safari front windshields added. All new interior: seat padding and covers. door/kick/and ceiling panels. pedestal mats. and front floor mat. This bus was a dry and original bus to start with and needed very little metalwork. I believe the front floors were the only items that needed repair/replacement before paint. All usual rust areas for these buses are dry and only show minimal signs of rust: floors. rain gutter. windshield metal. battery tray. lower valance. rockers. outriggers. etc. are all solid. There is a small hole on the drivers side inner dogleg that can only be seen under the bus. Since the restoration there is some minor bubbling in the paint in a few areas. but nothing serious. At the time of the restoration the bus was gone through mechanically: New brakes. tires. shocks. suspension bushings. 1500 engine resealed and detailed. tune up. front end rebuilt with rebuilt spindles. and rebuilt transmission were all added. All lights and turn signals work as well as the interior lights and speedometer. The fuel gauge and the passenger side wiper pivot are the only mechanical problems on this bus and should be an easy fix for the new owner/s. Overall this is a very well done and presentable early split window bus. The bus runs and drives well and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. The engine runs strong with no leaks. Currently missing in the pictures is one safari window slide on the passenger side. but it will be installed before the bus leaves. This is a great bus for the collector or for a business. Clear California title included with the sale. Also included with the sale is a rear Z-bed. jump seat. and rear pad if you wanted to convert the bus be able to do a little camping in it. All cushions for these items have been recovered and they are in good condition.
