Ford Motor Company celebrated its 75th anniversary with two commemorative cars. one being the Lincoln Continental Mark V Diamond Jubilee Edition. They only produced a limited number with production of 5. 59 and only 1. 00 of them were in the Diamond Blue color like this one. The Diamond Jubilee option was an additional $8. 00 option over the base model making this the most expensive U. S. production car in 1978. coming in at a $22. 00 sticker price at the dealership. With this option came bucket seats with a console. Cartier clock. special velour pillow interior with embroidered inserts. vinyl-insert body side moldings. vertical bars on the grille. bumper guards and rub strips. turbine-style cast aluminum wheel vanes. and padded vinyl deck lid with matching vinyl-insert lock cover. ebony wood-tone inserts on the instrument panel. door trim panels. front seat backs. and console.
