                                1973 JAGUAR  E TYPE SERIES III. nbsp;2+2 FHC. 5. 3 V12 MANUAL. nbsp;ORIGINAL UK RHD CAR

This is my 1973 V12  Etype Series 3 2+2  manual/overdrive in excellent all round condition; perfect mechanically. nbsp;factory replacement V12 engine in 1980's (5000 miles only); original  RHD UK supplied car.

“BBN  857L” was registered in England on 19th June 1973 and is a very original car. finished in Jaguar "Primrose Yellow"  with contrasting black leather trim and carpets. The car is in excellent  condition. and was stored for around 30 years in a heated garage before being re-commissioned last year. MOT in December 2016 with no Advisories and has done less than 100 miles since then. Original service book and old MOT's etc. Previous owner over 30 years who stored the car as an investment.

It has new battery  fitted and also new leads. distributor caps and plugs and starts and runs perfectly with excellent oil pressure and no leaks. A factory replacement engine was fitted 30 years ago when these were still available This is the pre-injection Stromberg carburetor model and as such is easier to tune and maintain than the later fuel injection models.

The car is in excellent under the bonnet  and underneath (see photos) and has never been welded or repaired.

The  5. 3 litre V12 engine is absolutely fantastic and has the benefit of a manual gearbox. as per original specification.

The car is in excellent condition mechanically and bodily. with MOT until  December 2016 and all previous MOT's. Everything is in good condition and fully working order.

I doubt you will be able to find a better. original example of the Series 3 . which is the most practical to drive and maintain. for the asking price of 35. 00.

Only 15. 00 of the Series 3 were built on total. of which around half were the FHC models (see history below). Values of these iconic cars have increased a lot as roadsters have become unaffordable by most people. and the FHC can only increase further.

The pictures ( taken la few weeks ago) do not do it justice. so serious potential buyers are urged to come and inspect /test drive the car for themselves.

Alternatively potential buyers are welcome to arrange a Third Party /AA/RAC inspection (at their cost) but I am confident they will find no major faults.

The car is registered in my name. insured and taxed until June 2017 . ith MOT until December 2016. It has the benefit of free  UK Historic road tax.

Please call Steve on 07890948758 for an appointment to view. Serious enquiries only please and no tyre kickers.

Overseas buyers are welcome . but will be responsible for collection and shipment.

The E-Type Series 3 was introduced in 1971. with a new 5. 3 L twelve-cylinder Jaguar V12 engine. uprated brakes and standard power steering. The short wheelbase FHC body style was discontinued and the V12 was available only as a convertible and 2+2 coupé. The convertible used the longer-wheelbase 2+2 floorplan. The Series 3 is easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille and flared wheel arches. and a badge on the rear that proclaims it to be a V12. Cars for the US market were fitted with large projecting rubber bumper over-riders (in 1973 these were on front. in 1974 both front and rear to meet local 5 mph (8 km/h) impact regulations. but those on European models were considerably smaller. US models also have side indicator repeats on the front wings. When leaving the factory the V12 Open Two Seater and V12 2 ± 2 originally fitted Dunlop E70VR − 15 inch tyres on 15 × 6K wire or solid wheels.

Series 3 production numbers:- Roadster 7. 90 FHC 7. 97; Total Series 3:- 15. 87 (1971-1975)
