Private sale of my 1968 280sl 4 SPEED MANUAL classic Mercedes Pagoda. chassis number 11304420004060. colour code 903H Blue

 Comes with both tops. Hard top matching color 903H blue and black soft top

 It was first registered here in UK 16th September 1968.

 I purchased this car on 29th October 2010 from the previous owner who I knew for many years. I have a full print out from DVLA showing all ownership since being first registered here in UK in 1968.


When I first purchased this car I had it completely stripped down and freshly repainted in its matching original colour. and today it is still in prefect unmarked condition.  The car has always been dry stored by both me and the previous owner. For me the car was for special days out and hence never really got used so now it is time to pass it on.

It is a full matching numbers car. with all original panels and nice straight lines and perfect gaps. The chassis is all original and perfect with no rust at all and wax oiled. I had the whole interior re-trimmed by Oxted Trimming Company. and I have the invoice for this. Carpets. leather seats. door panels. dash and horseshoe with new seat belts are all still showing like new from when I had it done.  The soft top was also replaced by me and is still like new. The bright work is showing very well all over.  It has a new period style radio with USB connection. The woodwork is still all original which was stripped and re-varnished. along with new sun visors.

I have maintained this car regardless of any cost.  My last bill for a service was for well over thousand pounds at mileage 61. 37. There is a full detailed invoice showing everything that was replaced and done at the time. Also it has been fitted with new front and rear brake calipers and pads.

Most recently I had the gear lever bushes all changed. which has given it nice tight smooth change in gears.

The running gear is all perfect with absolutely no oil leak issues at all.  It is a turn car start car and runs just like the very first day. smooth and quiet. With stainless steel  exhaust fitted.

The engine bay is all nice and clean. new plugs and points etc. It is a nice clean engine bay. The current mileage is 65000 miles and is genuine. I have many old MOT's clearly showing how little use the car has had. I have the engine oil changed every 6 months regardless of whether I am using it or not. All gauges and clocks are fully working as they should be.

It comes complete with spare wheel in trunk and original tool holder with tools.  The trunk floor is nice and clean showing no rust.

 There are many receipts for various things over the past years all displayed in a folder with complete full set of keys. Also I have disc with pictures showing the strip down and repaint of the car.

The car has just had fresh MOT issued without any advisories straight clean pass. span >  It has  just been fully serviced ready for new owner.
