Unless you've been living under a rock. you will have noticed that the values of 70's Japanese coupes have gone through the roof.  The smart money says that the next category of classics to achieve this will be 80's Japanese coupes.
This Australian delivered Supra was originally sold by the now defunct Goulds Toyota of Northcote. According to the service books. the owner drove it sparingly and had it religiously dealer serviced. After her passing it remained in her family until I bought it.
At a little over  100. 00 kilometres. the unburstable Toyota mechanicals needed little to bring them up to scratch.  But let's not pretend that a 30 year old vehicle. no matter how pampered. can look "as new". Weather. use and general wear and teartake their toll and although this Supra had great "bones". it was no different.
So I bit the bullet.
My objective was to restore the car as closely as possible to the car Goulds would have displayed on their showroom floor in the 80's.  The photos. all of the actual car. demonstrate how successful the exercise has been. It looks stunning from any angle with its quintessentially80's design features. For more photos. go to carsales. com. au.
A number of correct used and NOS parts were sourced from the U. S. . England and locally in order to preserve its originality and that luscious paintwork was the final touch in enhancing those complex curves.
On the inside. the seats are in way better condition than I would have thought possible for a 30 year old car; there are no cracks or splits in the dash. the steering wheel. the console lid. the seat belt guides or the exterior mirror mouldings. Those things will be meaningful to a collector.
Also:- It has the original Toyota tool for removing the targa top with instructions in English. Japanese and French (French?!). Aircon blows cold.  It has the correct stereo with working casette player. /span>- The central locking works. It has a set of quirky navy factory floor mats from the 80's with "TOYOTA" emblazoned in white rubber. Very cool.
Please don't compare this with those tired cars that "need some TLC. " This is an original restored classic. very useable. which isready for its next custodian.
Historic registration means that it will be sold without plates. but I am happy to provide a Victorian roadworthy certificate to any Victorian purchaserwho buys it for an amount over $13. 00. 00.
Remember. you are bidding to buy. not to look. Inspections are welcome and encouraged at any time before the auction's conclusion but not after. I am in North Caulfield. I will require a 10% deposit within 48 hours of the auction's conclusion by direct bank deposit (no "viewing" in that time) with the balance to be paid within 4 days of the auction's conclusion by cash or bank cheque.
Happy bidding.

Hi this might sound a bit crazy but I am emailing from uk if the car was in my country I would be setting off now with cash. I used to have a white supra in 1983 just the standard hardtop but ever since have always thought one day I will buy the aerotop and saw yours as I have just started to look . I know it's a long shot but these days not impossible for me to purchase and ship back to U.K. I understand if you can't be bothered to discuss further but I would be serious at looking into the possibility all the best Graeme
