SELLER REMARKS

If you're going to do a Cobra replica. you may as well go to the source. This 1966 Shelby Cobra carries a coveted CSX number. and is one of the "continuation" series Cobras built by the legend himself. With a thundering all-aluminum 427 under the hood. it's as close to the original as you'll get for under a half-million bucks.



You want the exact Cobra shape? This is it. unaltered for comfort or convenience. It's still fiberglass. which is why it remains affordable. but the finish quality makes it indistinguishable from aluminum without rapping your knuckles on the sides. In fact. I'd argue that the fiberglass is superior as it's easy to make it flat and smooth. The Guardsman Blue paint with Wimbledon White stripes is pure Shelby magic. and yes. that's the right color blue-everyone else has been getting it wrong for decades. It isn't "customized" to the builder's tastes with add-ons. it's exactly the way Ol' Shel was building them five decades ago. complete with jacking stubs. small taillights. and an oil cooler up front. The windshield. wind wings. and side mirrors look right. the roll hoop is brilliantly plated. and the unfinished side pipes are just the way they're supposed to be.



The low-back black leather buckets are also exactly the way they were in the '60s. and despite their rather ancient design. they're comfortable and supportive. although you'll appreciate the belts that help hold you in place with the cornering forces this car can generate. A gorgeous wood-rimmed wheel is a replica of the original. and the dash is full of Smiths instruments. including the reverse-rotation speedometer in the center. That forward-canted shifter is still borrowed from a Mustang. but there are five gears underneath instead of the old Top Loader four-speed unit. so this sucker has legs! And. of course. there's the requisite Shelby plaque on the dash showing off its authentic CSX number (CSX4236. by the way) and Carroll Shelby's signature. The trunk is fitted with minimalist upholstery . as well as a rear-mounted battery. as well as a mammoth 23-gallon fuel cell intended for the 24-hours of LeMans. There's also a handy tonneau cover that'll come in handy if you drive it often because there is no top.



This is one of only a very few Cobra "replicas" that can be said to have matching numbers. That's a Shelby-built 427 cubic inch V8 under the hood. with a freshly cast aluminum block and all-new internals. all especially built for this car. It exists under California's SB-100. which means it really is a 1966 Cobra and exempt from smog controls. As a result. they were free to go nuts. boring it to 454 cubic inches. adding aluminum heads. a special Shelby valvetrain. and a Barry Grant carburetor up top to feed the thing. It makes a dyno-proven 535 horsepower and 525 pounds of torque. which is surely more than any vintage 427 ever managed. The suspension is all-independent on a round-tube chassis. with A-arms and coil-overs at all four corners. Vintage-looking Halibrand knock-offs wear cool Goodyear "billboard" tires that replicate the race tires used in the '60s. so it looks totally authentic.



Complete with a tool kit. documentation. knock-off hammer. and even a gumball for the flanks. this is an exceptional snake that's one of only a few replicas that's sure to be a smart investment. Call today!

TERMS OF SALE  

1. Per the eBay User Agreement. by placing a bid you are entering into a legally binding contract and are committed to purchasing the vehicle described above. The details of this commitment are further outlined in the eBay User Agreement.

2. Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. Streetside Classic Cars reserves the right to end its auctions early or to cancel bids solely at its discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.

3. The winning bidder is required to contact Streetside Classic Cars within 24 hours after the close of the auction to finalize the details of the transaction.

4. A $1. 00 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction's close.   This deposit reserves the vehicle and removes it from the market. Acceptable payment types for deposit are: credit card. wire transfer. cashier's check. and money order.

5. If winning bidder does not contact Streetside Classic Cars and submit deposit within 48 hours of auction close. vehicle may be made available to the next highest bidder or another qualified buyer on a first come. first serve basis.

6. Streetside Classic Cars has represented this vehicle to the best of its ability. Prospective bidders are encouraged to contact us directly to provide additional information or answer any questions.

7. Please be aware that all pre-owned vehicles. regardless of age. mileage. or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure. Streetside Classic Cars encourages bidder to have a personal inspection completed prior to delivery to help ensure your satisfaction. Third party inspections are to take place prior to a vehicles shipment or delivery.

8. All vehicles are sold "AS IS" and with no warranties expressed or implied.

9. Final or winning bid price does not include shipping. tax. title. or registration fees. It is the purchaser's responsibility to provide for any state or local taxes and shipping expenses resulting from the sale.

10. We can assist you in delivery through our network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper's custody.

11. Streetside Classic Cars bears no liability and shall be held harmless for any complications. expenses. or damages resulting from a failure to meet these terms as they have been set forth and established herein.

12. An additional documentation fee of $199 will be added to the purchase price at the time of sale.
