Rare Vintage Oval 1957 VW Beetle Volkswagen Sedan 36HP Original Genuine Volksy

 1957 VW Oval Beetle 

 I am regretfully selling my October. 1957 Volkswagen Beetle.  

I began its restoration a few years ago as it has such a good straight body and very original aspects and accessories. I have reconditioned the 36hp engine meticulously with all tinware powder coated in satin black. all new replaced parts and also an original ceramic coated muffler. All brakes have been stainless sleeved and refurbished. steering and suspension restored in POR-15 black. Wheel arches black bitumen schutzed.  

I have accumulated many spares and accessories such as a second "W' deck-lid. bonnet. bumpers. many over riders. lights and tail lights. fenders. rear fender skirts (spats). rear luggage parcel shelf barrier. engine parts. a second set of very good rims (media blasted & primed). spare fuel tank. hub caps. spare oval glass. jack and lever. and several other spare parts.  

The VW body and interior does require completion as I have only started the restorative process with the running gear and some minor metal work patches. namely where after market indicators were attached. antenna hole and seat belt mount holes. There is some minor sections of rust in the base of the passenger side pillar and a small strip in the base of the oval window to the base edge. I have the 'B' pillar lower rust repair patch panel included.

 It will certainly suit the VW enthusiast as the body is extremely straight and looked after and also with the amount of spares and associated VW related items that will be included in this sale.

The grey deck-lid is very straight and without rust other than surface rust spots. I also have another very good deck-lid which may be better yet is black so I bolted on the grey one for the photos. The white bonnet is also the better one yet the other bonnet is rust free with only some mild surface rust since being stripped of paint.

 I have the complete history of this vehicle including the original paperwork of registration dated 10 October 1957 and all the paperwork relating to the registration to current SA registration in my name. The car is currently rolling with engine installed for transit yet not wired up. It runs like a Swiss watch. - perfect and was plastic wrapped until this prior week when it was installed.

 The four main glass pieces are out yet all safely stored as my intention was to strip the car down completely prior to re-paint and restorative work.

These early 1957 Oval Beetles are appreciating well in value today and fully restored examples are reaching over twenty thousand dollars!

Please note that the glass and the spare parts are not pictured yet they are all included in this auction. I can affix the spares. etc in the car for Interstate transport If required.

Basically this car can be tidied up and made roadworthy and then it is walk in Rego. I am the last Registered owner in SA.  

This is a very rare opportunity at an affordable project price!  

Interstate purchasers are welcome but must arrange and pay for their own freight.
