MGC GT Restoration Commission from

MGC GT (1968) ready to be commissioned for restoration.  

The vehicle is Snowberry White with standard manual gearbox and steel wheels. Four previous owners are recorded.

Option 1.

Body restoration:

The vehicle will be stripped of all parts (bagged and clearly labelled) for the client to refurbish and refit.  

New sills and castle sections fitted along with any repairs necessary. New rear chassis leg extensions fitted. New front suspension mounts fabricated (in house) and fitted.

Exterior panels renewed/repaired where necessary. the body being refinished. including lead loading over any repairs. prior to acrylic paint (any colour. metalic £100 extra) being applied.

The underside will be cleaned and hand painted. all cavities wax-oiled.

Price: £6. 00. 00 plus parts. approx. £500.

Option 2.

All of above plus:

Engine:

Re-bored with new pistons. Crank reground with new shells. Cylinder head refurbished with new guides and converted for use with unleaded petrol. Any other components needing either renewing or refurbishing will be dealt with.

Gearbox:

Striped and rebuilt with any remedial work carried out.

The vehicle will be supplied with engine and gearbox refitted into a rolling chassis. all other parts refitted by customer.

Price: £7. 00. 00 plus parts. approx. £1. 00.

Option 3:

All of the obove plus:

Braking system:

Striped and rebuilt with any remedial work carried out including new callipers. wheel cylinders and pipe work.

Suspension:

Re-bushed where necessary.

Interior:

Seats to be re-covered in vinyl. Carpets and trim to be either replaced or refurbished.

Brightwork:

Replaced where necessary with a mixture of new and second-hand.

The vehicle supplied road tested with MOT and 3 months warranty.

Option 4.

Including all of the above plus:

Steering rack fully rebuilt.  

Rear axle refurbished.

Front dampers up-rated.

Rear dampers converted to telescopic.

Rear springs renewed with parabolic kit.

Suspension bushes replaced with poly kit.  

Engine gas flowed and balanced.

Seats recovered in leather.

Price: £9. 00. 00 plus parts. approx. £6. 00. 00

This has covered the main aspects of the vehicle. however there are other items that will be renewed/refurbished as the project progresses. This will be at the discretion of our workshop within the usual standards of craftmenship. This dialogue will be open throughout the project along with the potential to upgrade the specification of the finished vehicle at further cost.

Payment will be an initial £2500 to start the project (ownership of the vehicle along with V5 being transferred at this point). with staggered further payments throughout. this will be negotiable. The final agreement will be set out in a contract for mutual understanding.
