FOR SALE

Immaculate Ginetta G15 Sports Coupe with only 11. 59 miles and two owners from new.

EQUIPMENT
Tubular steel chassis. light weight aerodynamic GRP non-corrodible bodywork. side lights. racing chrome petrol cap. stainless steel fuel tank. light weight plastic sliding side screens. collapsible steering column. laminated front and rear screen. competition leather alloy steering wheel. Ginetta ‘Grand Prix' sports seats. adjustable driver's seat. two interior lights. matching speedometer and tachometer. oil. water and fuel chrome surround gauges. Factory fitted options; special paint. heater. seat-belts. steering column lock. sun visors.

EXTERIOR
Finished in striking Mid-Orange. (an extra cost option) this example is simply perfect and has a deep reflective shine.   The body was sent to a firm who produces full scale models of Formula One cars under licence for some of the teams so the quality and detail is exceptional with no less than three coats of lacquer.   Two miniscule stone chips on the nose cone and another on the driver's sill do not detract from the show winning quality.   The original chrome bumpers. front and rear lights and rubbers are factory fresh.   As when new. the plastic side screens have a slight haze.   The engine bay is detailed.   Probably the best Ginetta G15 Sports Coupe available.

INTERIOR
The original pristine Ginetta G15 ‘Grand Prix' seats place the driver in the optimal position ready for an exhilarating and race inspired drive.   Every fitment. control. gauge. switch and stalk is factory correct.   No racing enhancements have been added and only the door light switch has been disconnected. (the dash mounted toggle switch still operates both lights).   The optional heater. seat-belts and sun visors as per the 1972 Ginetta Cars Ltd Invoice are still fitted.   Truly exceptional and worthy of the most discerning and perfection seeking enthusiast.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The factory supplied and original light alloy 875cc Hillman Imp Sunbeam sport engine and gearbox assembly are still fitted.   Retaining its twin Stromberg carburettors and four branch exhaust manifold this 55bhp free-revving unit red-lines at 6500rpm with remarkable smoothness and rapidity yet returns 41. 4 mpg. (Source: Motor. February 1970).   Stripped and rebuilt including a +30 thou rebore this matching numbers engine offers sparkling performance and a wonderful exhaust note.   The close ratio. all synchromesh Imp transmission is light. well weighted and very precise.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
Optional at the time this example is fitted with cast alloy 4 ½ J X 13 Cosmic wheels and are all unmarked.   All four wheels still have the correct Ginetta centre badges entact.   The tyres are new Goodyear Duragrip 165/65 R13.   Kunifer brake pipes and braided Goodrich hoses are combined with the original Girling 9in disc brakes and rear drums.

HISTORY FILE

Astonishing.   Ordered by Mr D. J Frary on the 6th September 1971 to be supplied in component form for the sum of £933. 50 with three options. heater at £16. 50. seat-belts at £10. 0 and Mid-Orange at £7. 50.   This order is signed by K. R Walklett. one of the four Walklett brothers who founded Ginetta cars in 1958. A letter of apology from Douglas Walkett dated the 7th March 1972 to Mr Frary explaining a delay in delivery and 11 cars being postponed due to the power cuts and the change-over to the new factory at Edgworth Road. Sudbury.   At this point acknowledgement of sun visors being added to the order at £6. 50 is noted.   Mr Frary kept all the brochures. road test reports and his personal build notes and are included in the history file.  The owner and builder took the vehicle off the road in 1982 due to minor running issues where it sat in his annex for the next 29 years.

Sold to the only other owner in February 2011. Mark Dredge. who embarked on a fastidious. factory correct rebuild to delivery condition.   The rebuild is documented in the Ginetta Owners Club Newsmag (No. 135/September 2011) and more recently in Practical Classics January 2013 publication.

12 months MOT. Tax Exempt and HPI Clear.
