This superb. usable MG TF 1250 is a genuine UK supplied car still retaining its original registration mark. 424 BMG was first registered on 1st June 1954 and left the factory as a Black car. We know from the history with the car that it was in Doncaster in 1961 and soon after the car was sold to a long term owner in Epsom. Surrey. The MG stayed with this owner for over 20 years. changing hands locally in 1984. The MG was with this next owner for 17 years and therefore the MG has spent almost 40 years in the same Surrey market town. 424 BMG has been with its most recent local owner for the past seven years and comes to us in excellent usable condition with a fabulous history file dating back to the early 1960's.

This MG is not a show car. but it is very smart. presentable and usable. This is a real driver's car and has been fitted with a five speed gearbox making the car more relaxed for longer distance touring. This is certainly a car that likes to be used. from previous MOT certificates we can see the car has covered 76. 00 miles since 1975. In eleven years from 1975 to 1986 the car covered over 35. 00 miles and almost 30. 00 miles from 1986 to 2005. Over the past seven years the MG has only covered 3000 miles but in one year between 2005 and 2006 the car covered 10. 00 miles so has proven very capable of long distance touring and regular use.

In order to keep up with this kind of mileage it has had to be very well maintained. We even have invoices from the late 1960's and early 1970's and have one invoice for a full complete engine rebuild including re-ground crankshaft. new bearings and pistons. There are also invoices for very recent work totaling well over £2. 00. The most significant recent work included a brand new clutch. re-conditioned radiator. new water pump. thermostat and housing and new core plugs. Over the past seven years the MG has been thoroughly enjoyed and has been kept in strong mechanical order. The engine runs beautifully with very good oil pressure. the five speed gearbox is like new. the brakes. suspension and steering all feel great and the car drives particularly well and feels reliable. comfortable and gives the driver plenty of confidence.

The MG was painted Old English White many. many years ago and still retains a very good shine. The bodywork is very good. the underside excellent and the car has a nice finish. The chrome work is of a very smart standard. the MG rides on painted wire wheels and the mohair hood and sidescreens are in excellent order. This is a very well presented car and under the bonnet is tidy. but you can see the car has been used regularly. This is not a car to win shows. but it does not need any serious cosmetic work and can be used and enjoyed without touching it. The upholstery is particularly smart. clearly having being re-upholstered very well a number of years ago. If looking for a smart. tidy. usable MG TF this has to be an excellent choice.
