1970 Rover P6 V8 3500 LPG

This is a pre-advert and this will be offered for sale mid August.
I am looking for a reasonable price for this exceptional Car & Spare parts

For sale is my fantastic Rover V8 and a huge stock of parts

This is just an advert and I will be listing the car and the parts as a job lot auction mid August. Although this does depend on interest. I will be starting the auction at 99p

I will try to answer any messages but this may be slow until the auction starts.

I have owned this car for about 20 years and ran it as my main car for many years. I have travelled all over Britain in it and I have toured France in it.

I have always run it on LPG (19 mpg at 70p per litre). The car is still featured on the  IWEMA website. You can find it by searching images of Rover P6 LPG.

I am selling the car as I have not used it since 2009 and my parents are fed up with all the parts being stored at their house.

In mid July this year I took it for an Mot to see what would happen. It failed on a few little bits like earth problem with horns and front lights. seatbelt not retracting and one of the rear brake calipers does not work. To get it to the Mot station and back involved a 20 mile or so drive. Other than the odd knock it still drives beautifully. the engine and gearbox are fantastic. the steering and suspension were as they should be for a luxury 1970 car. The note of the Stainless Steel exhausted brought back many happy memories.

The car was originally restored from an accident write off and this involved it being reshelled with a restored base unit from a local Rover P6 specialist. The engine and gearbox are the later much more desirable BW 65 and lower compression V8 which does not require lead.

The Car needs work to get it back to its glory days. the panels need work (they are all removable and there are spares included). I borrowed the battery from my Landrover to get it going. It should be trailered away. Mechanically it still appears good and I did not get any advisories for rust so all the important structural points must still be good.

I have a vast number of spare parts ranging from a BW 65 auto gearbox to screw to the smallest of screws. I can not remember everything but have a look at the photographs. Here are some of the items bumper. many overriders. suspension and steering parts including 4? steering boxes. a complete rear subframe assembly with diff. many front struts. nbsp;front seats which match the ones in the car. 20+ sidelight/rearlights. headlight. 4 dashboards. switches and panel. nbsp;propshafts. 2+ complete sets of sundym glass. bonnet. oot. 8? doors. 6? wings. front and rear valance. windscreen wiper panel. windscreen wiper motor etc. spare wheel covers and boot trim.

The parts have all been dry stored and when I removed them from the various P6 I scrapped back in the 80/90s were in good usable condition.

I would like to sell everything as a job lot. but may be able to sell the odd part and I am a car enthusiast and would like to see this go to a New good home.

Having said this if there are particular parts you are looking for drop me line but I will not be able to get to my parents house to check until mid August and I may be very slow answering emails until then. I am sorry but the minimum cost for any part will be £20 due to the distance I have to travel to get to where the parts are stored.

The parts and the car are stored nr Bath. Somerset. The parts weigh over a tone so a large van will be required to move them and to trailer the car.

As stated earlier I will try to answer emails but I will be very slow until mid August. I will change the advert to an auction for 99p in mid August.

Happy motoring
