1973 Brazilian Volkswagen Variant 1600
As far as I am aware this is one of three later style Variants within the UK - it is the only one with an adjustable beam. and a great stance and attitude. This is a rare car in Europe. and one which turns heads whenever I drive it. imagine the response rolling into a VW event !
This car is in excellent condition and is free form the corrosion and accident damage which is often found in vehicles imported from South America. I was lucky in the respect that the car is even more original than I expected. and far better than I was led to believe. The interior is very good. and totally original ! It has wear to the floor covering in places. and the headlining could do with a clean. but it is in remarkably good condition and a good indication of a rather sedate life instead of the typical trashed or re upholstered interiors more common in cars of this age and heritage.   Basically it is a good original survivor which has been hit with a lowering stick and shod with some wider rims and low profile tyres.
Mechanically the car is very good. the 1600 engine pulls strongly and the transmission is free from noise or evidence of wear.   It had a basic service as well as  the brake hoses and front calipers replaced for the MOT. but other than that has been well maintained throughout.
The car drives nicely for a lowered VW and can be hustled along should the mood take you.   The beam is adjustable. and the car could go significantly lower if required - it uses Beetle parts up front so the usual array of slamming products or indeed replacement parts are available off the shelf . as are the rear parts which consist of a swing axle box etc.
Bodily the car continues to display the traits of a survivor  - no corrosion in the pan. no welding repairs in the past or needed. and no accidents. It has seen some exterior paint to a good standard. it has excellent door and panel gaps. it is straight and has no filler repairs or previous work that I have found.     the only annoyance are a small knock to the NSF slam panel above the headlight (which has lifted the paint ) and some  minor cosmetic bubbling to the doors.
To summarise - this is a bad ass Volkswagen. it is practical. nbsp;drives nicely. has the right stance and is about as rare and oddball as they come in the UK

It has a full UK MOT and the nova information allowing it to be UK registered. which is a simple postal application which I can assist with if required.
The car is located nr Guildford in Surrey and to arrange a viewing or for further information please call 01483 810756
