Here we have for sale my 1966 Ford Thunderbird.  Original colour. original interior. original engine matching numbers. in amazing shape. A real Survivor.

It comes with its original 390 cubic inch FE V8 engine and four barrel carburettor giving it quite a lot of power. tbh it needs that power as the car is quite heavy but the torque ensures a very easy ride.
There are only a handful of these in UK or even the Continent so you are absolutely going to make an impression with this.
I bought it to cruise to my brother's 50th Birthday. which has now gone. so I have no real need for the car. I have another one which is undergoing restoration but is not as pure or original as this one. requires more work and was never going to be ready for my Bro's birthday.
It was bought in USA earlier in the year having spent most of its life in a garage in Arizona.  The car is in remarkable original condition. Untouched essentially AND totally rust free.  You can even see the spotweld marks on the sills. untouched and clean as the day they were made 50 years ago. Seriously there is no bondo in this car. All the panels are genuine and rust free. I have lightly wayoyled the sills and corners of the wings to ensure it remains that way.  I have tried to keep the car as original as possible and recommissioned and cleaned rather than just replaced them.
After shipping it back to the UK it was recommissioned by Nick Smith of Dixie Motors.
This included a lot of work:-
The engine fully serviced. filters. plugs. spark leads. distributor cap. points oil etc Transmission servicedRear differential oil replaced (How often does that get done?)Cooling system recommissioned with new belts and coolant after pressure testing.  Brakes refurbished. nbsp;new discs and pads up front. new shoes at the rear. plus new hoses. The car really does stop which a great relief compared to other american cars I have driven. New battery. new battery tray. new windcreen washer system and wipers and door seals which were perished.
Parts supplied by Fred Traux at The Bird's Nest in Oregon who have just about everything you will ever need for this car.
Pls note the fitment of a rare passenger side door mirror which helps to balance the look of the car and also helps with joining motorways here in UK.
The engine is smooth and powerful. the auto box works seamlessly. nbsp;Power steering works perfectly as does the rare electric seat (worth a lot on its own I am told!)
OK the car IS original. so it has some areas of patination and ageing.  The seats are all original and complete but the driver seat has a small hole in it and might need to be refurbished.  The seatbelts although hardly used look a bit mucky. I'm sure they could be taken off and cleaned though. The cigarette lighter has never been used. The internal and external chrome is in very good shape.  The rear sequential indicators all work and have not been replaced.  The radio works. but I couldn't get it to play the 8 track cassette I found under the seat. I have an Elvis 8 track cassette coming to see if it was just the tape.  All the suspension and drivetrain was reconditioned as it was in a derelict state.  Inside the boot could do with new liners. It currently has its original boot liners but really they could do with replacement as they didn't clean up. despite the effort. The door cards are a little bit worn.
This is a genuine survivor and I have kept it as such and have avoided the temptation to replace everything. It takes a long time to get to this state and the cars are only original once.  The car is presented in its original colour however somebody in USA had repainted it some time ago.  The speedo is inaccurate and shows 25mph when the car is stopped.
All in a great car with potential to be made new if you want to or to run as a survivor as I have.
This is certain to be a great investment as all classic cars seem to be skyrocketing in price.
Usual eBay rules apply. no test pilots please this is not a fast car. I am a genuine personal seller not a trader.
