Classic Car Triumph TR3a not MG or Jaguar

Original English Triumph TR3a sports car for sale.

'Scarlet' was first registered in 1958 and sold to a Doctor in Stow on the Wold (can't get a more English address than that can you  ). It was originally green but was changed to red before 1966 - I have the original beige log book for the car which shows the colour change but it  is not specific on the year of change. I also have a copy of the Heritage Standard Triumph build record.

It comes with rack and pinion steering conversion. wire wheels. a fully functioning overdrive on 3rd and 4th gears. poly-bushed front suspension. four branch manifold. nbsp;stainless steel exhaust (sounds like a real car) and a stainless steel rear boot-rack (have you seen the size of the boot on a TR 3?) and an electric fan. It is fitted with a wooden  Moto-Lita steering wheel. a high capacity water pump and also comes with  a tonneau cover and a cover for the hood frame.

It recently had  new brake and clutch master cylinders  fitted and a new clutch slave cylinder and hose fitted ( there wasn't a problem. but given their age I thought it prudent to replace them. I have just had (after the pictures were taken) the rocker cover. handbrake and gear stick re-chromed.

I also have a modern oil filter conversion kit which I haven't got round to fitting- this will go with the car.

I have owned 'Scarlet' for the last ten years and am genuinely only selling her because I want a four seater to get my grand children in (I'm not all together sure of the wisdom of this move . )

We use Scarlet regularly and have toured France in it. where it ran like a sewing machine - the locals loved it. leaning out of their cars to wave. we had a great time !  I have a file with lots of receipts. old MOTs (no longer required for this age of vehicle but probably best to get it checked annually. ) etc.  

It does have a couple of very minor scratches on the bodywork (nothing serious) and two spots of corrosion on the bottom of the front wings ( smaller than a 5p piece - ) The sidescreens require new Perspex (circa £30) - but as I have never used the sidescreens I just never bothered to change them and if you are picky. the drivers footwell carpet needs replacing as its ripped by the handbrake (a full carpet set is circa £130)  To anyone not too familiar with classic car ownership you should be aware that parts for these cars are easier to get hold of than for a Mondeo - you can literally buy individual nuts and bolts for these cars. ( A Moss catalogue comes with the car)

No Mot is required for this age of car and road tax is free. insurance is about £95. cheap motoring eh ? 

Ooops. nearly forgot the no plate in the picture is a personal one for me . the car now bears a different. non transferable age related number - a nice one (990 @@@) . The owners club can help the buyer to get the original number back if you particularly want it.

Side screen Triumphs are very sought after (just look at the wrecks being dragged back from the USA requiring total restoration yet still being sold at high prices) and prices reflect this.
