EXTERIOR
This Mk2 Campaign comes in Helious blue with smoked rear light clusters. one of only three colour options for this limited edition. The paint work remains in its original factory coat to this day and still boasts a beautiful metallic flake and deep shine all round. There a few age related marks to the front of the car. however nothing unexpected for such originality.

The black bumpers. waistline trim and grill are laced with the classic GTi red piping and all remain in fine fettle with no dents or unsightly scuffs to be found whatsoever.

INTERIOR
This Golf comes with the desirable rainbow striped interior package. The Campaign edition was the only pre 1990 Golf to come with this option. Both front seats are in excellent condition. still feeling firm and supportive and the cloth is free from any sagging or damage. The rear seats look unused in perfect condition.

The door cards are free from any scuffs and the dashboard retains a good texture with no cracking or fading from sun exposure. It also houses the original Blaupunkt stereo. cassette and switchgear. all of which still feel solid to operate and work exactly as they should. The black carpet is protected in the foot wells by rubber VW over mats.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
With such modest mileage. a full VW service history and the most recent inspection being carried out by VW Peter Cooper Ltd in December 2012 at 47k miles. this Golf is in excellent mechanical condition. From cold. the engine burst into life at the turn of the key and idles correctly up to temperature. revving through the range in the familiar Golf fashion.

The 5 speed manual gearbox feels smooth and precise pulling through the gears with ease.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The Mk2 Campaign sits on a set of rare 14" Le Castellet forged alloy wheels. Other than a few very minor blemishes. the beautiful polished face of the alloys really help to make this limited edition stand out from the crowd. They are shod in the correct set of Pirelli P600 tyres. all of which still have plenty of tread remaining. With a new set of front brake hoses recently fitted. the braking system is operating exactly as it should. pulling the Golf to a controlled and effortless stop.

HISTORY FILE
This limited edition Mk2 was first registered in March 1988. It has been in the hands of one careful owner from new and has a full VW service history. there are a total of 18 stamps in the book. the last being done in December 2012.

There is a huge file full with all the old service receipts. every MOT certificate and the original bill of sale when the car was purchased for £11. 17.

Being a Campaign it comes with a limited edition ‘A Golf in ten million' document holder that encloses all of the original owners manuals. service book and spare key.
