1966 Sunbeam Alpine Series 5 - VW VR6 Powered/ Restored for sale

Offered here: A Just Completed. Tastefully Restored and Modified. 1966 Sunbeam Alpine. Series 5. Restored with fresh. Bare Metal Repaint in the Original British Racing Green. (Base Coat- Clear Coat) Fitted with "True Spoke" 14"X6" Chrome Wire Wheels. and Modified with a Awesome Volkswagen VR6 2800cc mk2 Engine . ( some would say. "that's Impossible). and a Toyota 5 Speed Transmission. Upgrades include a Huge Aluminum Radiator and Full Stainless Steel Exhaust and Headers. Retaining the original Motronic Fuel Injection System. Needless to say. this was a very tight fit. but nothing was 'cut out" or altered to the original chassis. This car weighing aprox. 2300 lbs. is lighter and at around 190-200 HP. is much more powerful than an original Sunbeam Tiger at 160hp. (260 V8). There were no expenses spared on this Restoration with features including. New Leather Upholstery. New Dash. New Carpet. New "Robbins" Canvas Top. Koni Adjustable Shocks. all rubber moldings and a Huge Front Sway Bar was added. This project began with a very Solid-Rust Free Chassis and is not for the "Faint of Heart". as this car will amaze. Some might ask. why not just put a small block ford into this. but in doing research. Cutting the fire wall. removing the original steering and replacing with a Rack and pinion system. swapping out the rear end for the stronger Salisbury unit to accommodate the "torque" of a V8 and finally. cutting the X Frame for the dual exhaust. with the end result  still Not being a "Tiger" but only a Alpine with a V8 engine. This car still retains the better "Balance" of the Alpine. I'm still working on the Gauges. trying to blend the two systems together. ie coolant temp and oil pressure.
