HELLO DEAR SPITFIRE LOVERS.  
here for sale is my beloved spitfire AKA the yellow peril. so named by my friend in Hull. i stayed at his house enroute to aberdeen from Essex where i bought the car off an automotive car painter who paints up classic cars in his own time. saves the marraige he said.  
the Spitfire had been fitted with a reconditioned 1600 CVH ford engine ( engine # LA81632) Chassis # FH. 41925 which puts it just before the change to the longer axles the 1500s have. and just after the change from the transverse spring. to the swing spring independent suspension. which after renewing the swing spring and all its components. found it not much better so i replaced it with MOTOCANCELLIS (ex performance research industries) fully independent suspension. which has transformed the car into a modern handling vehicle.  way more smoother on the road. bumps and rough terrain. independently grips where the weight is needed while cornering. and energy is not transferred from one side of the car to the other like the old swing spring.  many people love the swing springs. i respect and appreciate that. i just wanted to make mine how i wanted it to be.
motocancelli independent rear suspension £1000. 00
i have also replaced the axles and with the longer 1500 series axles and rear hubs from Fitchetts. 358. 00
replaced the front hubs with Canleys classics trunnionless front hubs.
i have put in a lockheed brake servo ( proffessionally installed) grooved and drilled brake discs. ( Canleys Classics again ). reconditioned the calipers.
new handbrake cable to fit the longer axles
headlight relay kit from Advance Auto-wire ( america) $95. 00 (US)
greasable top and steering ball joints
land rover freelander rear hub wheel studs £15. 00
powerflow exhaust from turriff tyres £285
5. 5 x 13 minilight alloys and uniroyal rain expert 175/70/13 tyres. £294 & £180 respectivley
the car comes with a hub pulling tool worth £78. 48
new mohair hood £318. 00 fitted £518. 00 
MX5 seats and seat belts
plus services. and a bit of work here and there i couldnt or wouldnt do due to saftey reasons.
cheyene fan assisted LED headlights with relays ( fitted proffessionally) £160. 00
i have also put DRL LED  European daytime running lights with indicators on the front. and LED brake and indicator lights on the rear. they work well. can be clearly seen. waterproof. reliable!!!! unless you like wiring and fault finding every other weekend. that why i put them on. more reliable means safer.
the engine is on the V5C. it is a registered change with the DVLA. and it is still no vehicle tax and low insurance. £122. 00 per year with Lancaster for me.
theres probably something i missed. but the biggy is the door. i was doing my HMRC with my partner. getting frustrated as its all so mind bogglingly criminally insane. i decided to leave her to it. and go for a drive in the yellow peril and backed out of the garage with the door open !!! and crunched it.  i got another good door from down south. put it on. it works fine but drops 1/2 an inch when opened. its going to need some work on it. i no longer have a garage as we moved. oh yeah. the car comes with a halfords premium car cover. completely waterproof!
. this car drives better and is safer on a modern road now with all the modifications done. as you can see theres lots done to it. genuine reasons for selling. i dont have a garage anymore. and these cars need to be garaged. i have been using it daily for the last year

adding 02/08/16  i am offshore just now till the 18th august. i had bought some vinyl and a can of spray glue to go over the central tunnel as i had soundproofed it with material from classic restorers. Alyth near Perth. its made a difference. only i was called off to a job a day early. so i didnt get around to it. and i also was going to tidy up another couple of things. not much. cosmetic stuff. but iut didnt get done. just being honest and making sure its known before the end.
anyway. well see what thursday brings then take it from there
