1928 Willys Whippet 96 Touring Sedan 4 Door

This 1928 Willys-Overland Whippet sedan is a very nice original car that has been well maintained through the decades.   It is registered with the Willys Overland Knight Registry.   The body wood and all sheet metal are original and are very solid with no evidence of any rot or repair work.   The floorboards and underside of the car look to be in very good shape with minimal wear.   At some point. the car has been repainted in the orginal color scheme.   The finish is very presentable. yet there are a few minor scratches and chips her and there.   At some point. the bright work has been replated. wood spokes and hubs refinished. the top material replaced. the brakes reconditioned and the seats recovered.  

The odometer shows 22. 00 miles and is believed to be accurate.   The original 4 cylinder engine has a manual 3- speed transmission and 4- wheel mechanical brakes.   The Riverside tires and in good condition with correct tread.   The original wood steering wheel is excellent.   Extra features include the following:  engine temp gauge. dual tail-lights. period turn signals. passenger door window ventilators (both sides). bumpers. wind-wings. external rearview mirror. owner's manual. and original tools.   The horn. and speedometer. and all gauges are working.    

We have made many repairs and improvements:  New winged MotoMeter. Whippet shop/repair manual. nbsp;Whipped parts cross-reference manual. new Robe rail inside rear cab.  Oil pressure gauge. Vacuum wiper. Window Tee Handle. New Dome Light. new Carpet ($110. 00 p/yd. square weave wool). carpet was hand surged and detailed. sandblasted floor pan. new brass tube and fittings. **Operating Original Brass Carburetor**. . all metal window door trim was removed sanded primed and repainted to original finish. new original wiring and new spark plugs.   Includes the original jack and attachments.   Please see pictures!

The Whippet can sit for weeks and then start right up. and it runs very well.   The clutch and non-synchronized transmission operate as they should. and the car drives and handles very well.   The radiator is exceptional for the age.   All lights work and all fluids have recently been changed.   The inside front cloth door panels need to be replaced and front lower floor side panels by brake pedal.   I have extra carpet.

The Willys Overland Whippet automobiles have quite a following and are becoming more collectable every year.   Well cared for cars like this are not easy to find as they once were and this one will make someone a fun driver.   The car has always been garaged.
