455 Rocket big block v8 w/ 3 speed auto.

Electric/hideaway tailgate and glass known as a ‘clamshell. ' Almost mint interior with electric seat.

Survivor car been downunder since 1974. Right hand drive since 1976. Heaps of documentation to back the story plus owner's manuals and broadcast sheets.

Drives beautifully with rebuilt carb. re-cored radiator/new water pump. new bushings up front & fuel tank recon. All done in last couple of years. Two child restraint points were also added. Comes with plenty spares including windscreen.

Rear lowered with 3” blocks. Can sell with Cragars for $1000 over final price. Otherwise it comes with standard rims and caps with good whitewall tyres. All set up for stereo in glovebox. Last one died but I prefer to listen to exhaust note so didn't replace.

Only selling because I can't fit it down my driveway and I don't want it out in the weather any longer. On non-transferable club rego so sold without rego or safety cert.

If you use paypal you pay fees.

Please call Tom on 0403772730 to come and inspect. Located central Brisbane.

History:

An American Air Force pilot had the car air freighted here in 1974. He drove it around Canberra for two years left hand drive. After returning home the US Embassy sold it for him in 1976. when it was converted to right hand drive. It was owned by that buyer for about 20 years then passed through about 3 owners up to myself.

These ‘Clamshells' were the longest nose to tail wagons ever made in the USA. also some of the most expensive at around $4800. All GM makes had a model of their own with slight variations of grille and tail treatments. They were popular in demo derby for the great all round vision. strength from the leaf sprung rear. impact bumpers on hydraulic rams and indestructible big block engines. Legend has it they were even banned from competing. This is also why there aren't a lot left.

If you would like to read more about my wagon you can find a feature in issue # 10 of Survivor Car Magazine.
