Motodrome are pleased to offer this exceptional example of the iconic BMW M535i manual (E28) finished in Polaris Silver.

 

fully equipped with 5-speed manual gearbox. limited slip diff. M-tech suspension. the correct metric alloys (shod with a matching set of  Avon Turbospeeds)  . M-tech interior. electric sunroof and windows. sports seats. central locking. trip computer. and externally headlamp wash/wipe and the full M-tech bodykit.

 

Also fitted with period stereo with CD stacker. and even the toolkit is complete down to the cloth wipe.

 

I've owned  several of these over the years. and this has to be by far  the nicest and most correct of them.  It had just 1 enthusiast owner from  2001 to 2015. who kept it garaged and waxoyled. which helps it be the superb example it now is. It's had the front wings replaced some years ago. but otherwise the shell seems to be untouched – there's no sign of welding repairs anywhere. it really is that good.

 

Odometer reading 136000 miles supported by old MOT's and the original service book with 12 stamps in it. We will be supplying it with a fresh 12M MOT (including any work required which will include new front shocks and bushes as a minimum) a service. and 6m warranty on sale.  

 

Further detail:

The body and paintwork on this one look utterly superb. with excellent front wings etc. No major dents (it's very straight down the sides. with just a couple of tiny parking dinks. one each side) but obviously expect minor stonechips. scuffs and scratches etc commensurate with it's age and mileage. but overall it's quite exceptional.  The arches. sills. floors and jacking points all appear rot free and original.

 All I can really criticise is a blister on the rear spoiler.   See the video below for a full appraisal of the bodywork

Interior – superb condition  all round with excellent cloth. unsplit dashtop. good carpets and headlining etc. All I can criticise is some slight wear to the drivers seat cushion. and a small split in the knee bolster. We do however have a spare drivers seat (and a rear seat backrest) in the same impossible-to-find cloth. so it should be possible to make a fresh-looking one if required. The period stereo works. but the aerial doesn't currently seem to be connected as I can't pick up a radio signal. This will be attended to when it goes into our workshop.   See the video below for a full appraisal of the interior



 

 

 

Started on the button and performed superbly on  test - with no cam rattle etc on start up.  didn't display any signs of misfiring. hesitancy. or overheating etc  . and first class performance all round - it goes like a train. All the instruments are working.  All I can criticise is a slight clonk from the front suspension over bumps (this will be sorted when it goes in for it's MOT etc - probably with new front shocks and rubbers) and the heater fan. whilst unusually working on all speeds. is a bit noisy - the fan motor bearings may be a little past their best. Nitpicking I know on a 28 year old car but I've got to find something. Watch the video below to see it in action
