1938 Willys Truck - Gasser project. STEEL. ORIGINAL AND RARE

For sale is a project Willys. the genuine article with complete Steel body. cab. doors. bed. tailgate. fenders. side aprons. running boards. hood. front wings. inner wings. Good original tin.

Also comes with  a complete aftermarket replacement floor kit. original dash panel. and 2x glove box doors with bakerlite handles. exterior handles. interior window winders and window winder handles.

The headlight areas have had some frenching work done - completed on one side and not the other. to accept standard 7" sealed beam units. Inner wings have had some tin removed to clear a previous independent suspension setup on another chassis. Firewall has some tin removed to allow for a V8. Inner rear arches have been cut out to accept wider wheels. but are simple flat tin to replace. Some holes also in cab floor. but easily repairable.

Car sits on its original chassis. has original pedals and crossmembers. has surface rust. is thin in a couple of places but very usable. will need boxing of course.

Car is currently mocked up by way of 57 olds rear axle clamped to a pair of original rear springs.

Front axle is original Willys. with 37-41 early ford spindles adapted to it. Speedway GM 11" rotor kit has been fitted to the spindles. Complete Speedway GM front brake kit is included with truck (calipers. rotors. flex lines etc)

New Speedway front spring and shackle kit has been used. spring hangers are currently only tacked to chassis until final wheelbase is established.

No steering column or wheel. No engine or gearbox. no propshaft.

I am asking £7250 ono but this price DOES NOT include Oldsmobile back axle or the new Billet Vintique Gasser II front wheels shown in pictures).

I will include the Vintique front wheels and Olds back axle in the sale for an additional £1000 if the successful buyer wants them.

Alternatively I will also consider selling just the body on its own for £5750 ono

All in all. you can see what is there in the pictures. These don't come up for grabs very often. The pickup bed is also far more straight and solid than might be expected. Its a great start to a cool project.
