We are very please to offer on behalf of a client this genuine and very rare 1969 Austin Mini Cooper MK 2 998cc. This Cooper is finished in Tartan red with a black roof and has just been recomissioned after 8 years in storage and is now ready to go. Mk 2 Minis are very rare as they were only ever produced for 18 months and are seldom seen on the roads or have been restored beyond being drivers cars making this Cooper a fine proposition.

This Cooper has had only three previous owners from new and is accompanied with a file of previous MOT and service receipts including the original owners handbook. It has just had a cylinder head overhaul with new valve guides. faced and fitted with new high tensile head bolts and now runs on unleaded fuel. The carbs have been stripped and cleaned and have had new jets. its also had a new radiator. new brake master cylinder and a clutch slave and finally a brake overhaul so she is ready for the open road.

This Mini Cooper is a un-restored example so please do not expect to find a concourse example it does require fettling on the body work. but thats not the point. These are fantastic drivers cars and only a hand full remain that can be driven around and have fun in without worrying about getting it splashed. This Mini still represents what made these cars so iconic. br/>
On the road it is great fun to drive. and it just gets so much attention. the engine is fantastic and pulls through the gears with ease and delivers impressive accelaration and would certainly give any 1275 a run for its money. The oil pressure is very strong and it runs cool. The gearbox is also smooth. It has its original Hydrolastic suspension that works well and disc brakes. The Mini has lots of period charm and character which is revealed as soon as you get it out on the road.

It has a solid shell. it has obviously had repairs in its 47 years and can easily just be used as is for years to come. There are some bubbles on the doors and the roof gutter and the paintwork has imperfections however this is reflected in the price and the rate at which these 60s Coopers are increasing in price it represents fantastic value. You can easily pay more than twice this amount for a similar Cooper or nearly the same for one in bits.

The interior has been retrimmed at some point with red inserts in the seats and door cards and the bottom dash rail has a crack but a new one is supplied with the Mini. A new carpet set has just been fitted.

The Mini is fully serviced and has an MOT until November and is ready to go. she fires up instantly and is a real charmer.
