If ever there was an example of a modern car being on the cusp of becoming a Classic. this is it. It is amazing one of the most expensive cars available at the time. of unsupassed quality and low production numbers can be bought for the asking price of this. This is a 1996 Bentley Azure. finished in Metallic Blue with Cream Leather. it has a full service history and has covered 80k Miles from new. We have just had the front suspension rebuilt and put a new MOT on her. She drives beautifully and is ready for the summer. It comes with its Owners Handbooks. Service Book showing 14 Stamps and was previously purchased from Bentley Specilaists. Hanwells. It has 4 owners from new and needs nothing.

Based on the potent Bentley Continental R. the drop head Azure version was one of the most powerful cars of the era. The Geneva Auto Salon was chosen to launch what would turn out to be the first Bentley model in several decades to use an entirely new name – 'Azure' - which. like 'Corniche' and 'Camargue'. evoked exotic destinations in the south of France. The famous Italian styling house Pininfarina – a firm with unrivalled experience in the design of soft-top Gran Turismos – had been chosen to develop the Azure on the four-seater Continental R platform. and there was no question that the result was most successful.

Body shells were assembled in Italy by Pininfarina. fitted with the automatic soft-top. painted and shipped to the UK for finishing at the Bentley factory at Crewe. Mechanically the Azure was similar to the Continental R. but with an engine further up-rated to 385bhp.

Hailed by its maker as 'the world's best convertible'. the Azure lived up to that grand title. proving an immense success especially in the US where its combination of unmatched luxury. effortless performance and soft-top style was highly attractive. When production ceased in 2003 a total of only 1. 21 Azures of all types had been built.

Did I mention already what amazing value these cars are. but be warned. they have started to rise in price. this is the cheapest example for sale anywhere in the world today and it is in the best colour scheme and in a lovely. but not perfect condition. it has been used regularly.

The later. facelifted. cars look amazing mainly due ot the larger wheel size. put a set of the newer wheels on the this and it will bring it right up to date. When I sell this. you will have to pay significantly more.
