The E Type remains a sports car every classic enthusiast ‘must have' at sometime in their driving ‘career'. The series 1 ‘flat floor' version is considered the most desirable because of its rarity and arguably its purity. However if you want a car to drive and enjoy and especially if you are over 180cm tall then I suggest this E Type series II MATCHING NUMBERS roadster with all synchromesh gearbox and the relaxed free revving 4. 2 litre engine is the one for you.

Our simply stunning Carmen red car has been the subject of an exhaustive and very expensive restoration. This work was completed in 2007 and the car has travelled to shows and ‘conours' events covering a mere 3000 miles in the last 8 years. As such it is presented in faultless. virtually perfect condition. Sold with a 12month warranty provided by Fender and Broad you simply need to decide where you want to travel to this coming season. Europe will be no problem for this classic grand touring cat.

Originally despatched to the USA to first owner in Louisiana the car returned to the UK early in the new millennium. With its original engine and matching numbers the car was subject of a comprehensive professional restoration during which a conversion to right hand drive undertaken. This was an exhaustive process that is fully documented in the substantial history file. A hundred photos and 2 thick files of bills for new parts accompany the car.

Finished in classic Carmen red with magnificent tan trim and black mohair hood the car is literally without fault and would be suitable to show with no further expenditure. However. this car is in my view a car to drive and enjoy. The engine is a beauty. Free revving. smooth and showing perfect pressures as you'd expect for a 3000 mile barely ‘run in' motor. The gearbox is also perfect and you snick from gear to gear with ease.

The cabin of this car is a really luxurious and engaging place to sit. The seats are so comfortable with sumptuous tan leather that still has the intoxicating fresh leather smell. The dash is also perfect and the gauges are all new and working as they should. The period radio is also a nice feature. The mohair hood fits as it should and all in all the cabin is a very pleasant place to sit with top up or down.

On the road the car is well balanced and poised befitting a car with all new polybush suspension that is well set up with sensible upgrades to the front brakes. The car will cruise all day long at 100mph if you find the right road but is just as happy meandering through country lanes or busy city centres.

It's a fabulous car. If you are looking for one you will struggle to find a better one.
