EX182 - "Special Parts for Series M. G. A. for Le Mans 1955"


 

 

The EX-182 can be considered one of the most important in the history of MGA because they are the immediate pre-production MGA racing cars built specifically to run in the 1955 Le Mans race. This was intended to be the showcase and publicity for the new MGA model. These racecars were originally intended to run in the Production class at Le Mans. When the production date slipped a little they were re-registered in the Prototype class. which allowed latitude for some additional modifications.

 

Offered here is a lovingly converted MGA to an EX 182. one of the three pre-production cars that raced at Le Mans in 1955. The 1. 22cc engine is new from the block out (crank was turned. bored . 020). Options include; Aluminum cross-flow head. aluminum valve cover. 240 DCOE Sidedraft Webers. all new hydraulics. headers. Lucas lamps. Prouillard Fog Lamp. chrome wire wheels. nbsp; Auster windscreen. custom hard tonneau and a vented aluminum bonnet. This is a classic. stripped-down race car style build made legal for the street – fast. loud. nbsp;nimble – and most certainly all MG.

 

*Please note. this is a "TRIBUTE" car and not represented as an EXACT replica or original EX 182. This car was built with the EX 182 in mind and features many of its conversions and attributes. Car is titled as a 1957 but does have many 1600 Mk II features.
