EXTERIOR
The fresh red paintwork on the 190 SL appears deeply glossy throughout; undoubtedly this is a beautiful car presented in a stunning colour combination. Having been subject to a recent and extensive restoration. the SL is in excellent condition. finished off perfectly with a set of whitewall tyres.

On close inspection all the chrome remains in exquisite order. having been either re-chromed or replaced where necessary to ensure a show-quality finish. Indeed all fittings and fixtures present as new. as do the removable hardtop and black fabric soft-top.

INTERIOR
Despite lacking in many of the comforts we expect in modern cars. the 190's glamorous interior remains luxurious even by today's standards. Newly upholstered in supple cream leather. the seats are absolutely pristine with no signs of any wear. The leather extends to the dash and door cards. which are also in perfect condition.

The interior is fitted with new carpets throughout including the trunk area. which is also very clean and tidy. There are no signs of use to any of the switchgear. with the steering wheel and red-painted dash also spotless.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Lifting the bonnet reveals a near-immaculate engine bay and freshly rebuilt motor. Finished in matte black. the under-bonnet area presents extremely well. with all components having been either restored or replaced to retain a fresh appearance.

The 190 SL model name is derived from the car's 1897cc engine capacity. The straight-four unit produces 104hp and enables the Mercedes to reach speeds of well over 100mph. Equipped with a four-speed manual gearbox. the SL drives extremely well.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The 13-inch wheels are covered with a set of red and chrome wheel embellishers. The trims are absolutely pristine with no signs of any wear or marking. Completing the look is a set of new BF Goodrich whitewall tyres.

HISTORY FILE
The Mercedes was first registered on 28th June 1958. In early 2012 the vehicle began an extensive restoration. the result of which you see here. Since completion the car has seen little use. and has covered just 692km. or 430 miles. The 190 is complete with an original parts manual. and owner's handbook.

The history file is packed full of invoices and paperwork documenting all the work that has been carried out on the car over recent years. There are also numerous photographs of the SL during the restorative process. highlighting key stages in the rebuild.
