Jaguar E-Type STUNNING w/ 2 VIDEOS of it Running/driving!!

I've been watching the selling XKEs for a good while now and these do not come up very often.

If you are a Jaguar “purist” please don't take offence but this car has the lines of XKE but the heart of America.   Back in the 1980's this car had the original V-12 removed and a late 1960's 327 and a 3 speed 300 transmission installed.  

I do not know if the mileage on the odometer is correct since it has the installed engine.   Nor do I know how many miles are on this 327.

I got it a few years ago and drove it often.   As time progressed and space was scarce. I had to put it in storage.   I recently decided to part with it since I know of another one that is at a price I cannot pass up.

Locally have a few folks that have nice original ones but they love and HATE to drive them since when they break. they break HARD and expensive.

Ive had many Triumphs and MGs and I know what they mean.   When this original big cats break… IT is CRAZY expensive to fix… especially a V-12.  

One fellow I know had some small engine repair that turned into $8. 00.   He was the one most interested in this one since his was worth around $75K.

The high bidder will buy this for same reason I bought it. It is the best of both worlds.   It looks GREAT. Drives well and if you need any work done it can be fixed almost anywhere since it's a CHEVY ENGINE!

Are there cheaper original Jaguar 6 and 12cyl cars out for sale that are in decent shape in the 15-20K range. sure but the first time something goes south OUCH!

Over the last 6 months Ive been tracking these converted XKEs and the top end ones are in the 35-40K range.

2+2 rear seat frame are gone.   Previous owner turned it in to a coupe so it's only a two-seater.

The original seat bottoms and backs wore out and the same previous owner put the leather seats out of a Audi TT in.

This one is a looker for sure. Paint is great all around though one small “door ding” in the passenger door.

Good stuff:  Has Edelbrock 650 CFM Carburetor and custom air intake. Tons of chrome and upgrades as you can see.

Starts right up (10 sec warm up)

-AC works Great

-Very little to no rust.   I have not pulled up the carpet but I do see a little around the spare tire.

-GREAT PICKUP from the 327.   I almost got the speeding ticket to prove it.

-Has a lower end CD player

Stuff that needs to be addressed:

Since it's been in storage I noticed two leaks one from the driver side valve cover and another from the tranny dipstick.   Not bad but I need to mention it.

-It is 41 year old car. has some creaks and groans and since its been in storage the brake squeak sometimes.

-Electric fuel pump may be pushing too much fuel?  Ill notice after driving it for a while I'll sit waiting for light and it will choke out.   I start it back up and work fine?  I drove it today when I made the videos and it didn't choke out at all?.

*I will assist and drive it to a local pickup point in the Jacksonville/St Augustine area.  

Bottom line:  Starts. runs. stops. leaks a bit. squeaks a bit. needs a bit of tweaking but it sure turns heads and will get you where you need to go without much trouble.
