This interesting example of Jaguar's convertible XJS believed
supplied directly to the luxury brand. Burberry. It was trimmed in
their trademark tartan for use in their marketing campaigns. In
1997. the current owner acquired it from HR Owen in London at which
time it had two previous keepers. In 2012. in a state of
dis-repair. there was an opportunity for Basingstoke College of
Technology and the Rotary Club of Basingstoke. to undertake a
restoration of the vehicle where it could then be sold off as a
means of raising funds for charities. It was taken to the college
where it was inspected by KWE Engineering who were able to identify
a programme of work and activities that had to be undertaken by
staff and students within the Automotive Technology department
within BCOT and the local Jaguar dealership in Basingstoke. br/>Harwoods. generously donated some of the spare parts for the
refurbishment. The refurbishment was considerable and included a
full vehicle re-spray. replacing the complete rear bumper. and
much. much more. In addition. repairs were undertaken by
re-stitching and re-covering the targa roof panels and the wood
veneer surround on the centre console gear selector.

With the works now complete. the car has an MoT test certificate
valid until March 2016. The profits from the sale of the car will
be used by Basingstoke Rotary to help support a number of
youth-orientated charities in the Basingstoke area including
Spotlight UK; Basingstoke Mencap and Homestart NW so enjoy some
alternative Jaguar history and please give generously.
