RARE 1969 Cougar XR7 Coupe S-Code 390 4 BBL 4-Speed 1 of 104 built in 1969. Car was equipped with PS. B. C. inted Windows. ower Windows. tyled Steel Wheels. 4-Speed (Close Ratio 2. 32) 3. 00 Locking Rearend. umper Guards. It was executive driven before being sold to a Ford employee off the employees sales lot. The odometer shows 34. 81 miles but I think it is more likely 134. 81. The car was maroon in colour with a black vinyl top and a red interior with the very rare Shelby Check Pattern Cloth. The previous owner spent several thousands on the body. but the car needs work on the shock towers with puffy rust spots on aprons. orque boxes are bad. ome floor work. You can see in pictures the interior floor and trunk were covered in some sort of tar  in the early seventies which helped save them somewhat. The drop off apron on the drivers side in the trunk is rotted though as is the frame rail there. These rear frame rail sections are commonly gone in Cougars or Mustangs and are available aftermarket. There may be other rust issues. All tinted glass is there as is power window stuff. The interior is really nice with some fadeing and nicks in material. The original 390 block. T Heads. T intake. T Exhaust Manifolds. ngine Internals. Correct Original 4-Speed Tranny. ell Housing. lutch. -Speed pedals. Original Shifter and linkage. riveshaft. . 00 Traction Lok which is Fords limit due to Air Conditioning ordered on this car are all there. Sadly the carb and distributor are lost from the car.  A real treat is the small aluminum engine I. D. Tag is still with the car. This is an amazing project for someone to start this winter and as a owner of several big block Cougars I believe if you going to restore one of these cats. do one with real potential to grow in value. 428CJ Cougars are very rare and climbing quickly pulling the little brother 390 along.
