1974 Daimler Double SIX in VIC

Up for auction is my 1974 fully imported Daimler Double Six (Registered as a 75 model). This car has had thousands spent on it but is still not ready for those nice Sunday drives. The original V12 had been overheated and as a result dropped a valve seat. I replaced theengine with a 1988 XJS HE V12 and modified it to suit a carb setup as to maintain the original4 carb look. Getting this engine tuned has proven to be a nightmare and it really needs a skilledperson used to tuning these motors to have a look. I just dont have the time to ferry it down toSpitteri to get it sorted. I will now list all the new and second hand parts fitted. br>Front ball joints. tie rod ends. rack boots and disk brakes replaced. 1988 HE V12 and turbo 400 transmission fitted with high capacity oil cooler. New fluids. Rear disks replaced along with suspension bushings. Diff pinion seal. Series III tail shaft fitted. Exhaust from engine to kick over pipes with cat (Second hand). down tubes off manifolds brand new (Took 3 months to track down). All 4 exhaust manifolds were sand blasted and painted in high temp mat black. Engine seals done prior to fitment except rear main. Modern sump gaskets. front oil seal. oil filter assy. cam cover gaskets. exhaust manifold gaskets. intake. 4x Stromberg carbs kitted and need to be tuned. Brand new RACE RADIATORS performance radiator costing $600 with brand new AU falcon thermo fans. Thermostats also replaced. External oil cooler Davies Craig type. Reco air conditioning compressor. Needs pipes made up to complete the air con system. $470 Crane Cams HI6 ignition and pickup fitted to suit the engines high compression ratio (12:1) and 12 new spark plugs. Ignition leads and dis cap plus new rotor button. Good used air conditioning condenser. Series III central climate control unit and fans to suit. Original heater only unit still in my shed also. Rear tail light covers and reversing light covers replaced. Both fuel pumps replaced and one fuel solonoid replaced.
As you can see. This car has had a fair bit done to it but still needs a few things. The listing start price represents the largeinvestment of money on my part and remember. its less you have to spend!The leather interior is in good original condition. some stitching needs to be redone on the front seats and all seats could do withnew foam. Carpet is excellent and there is an emergency fire extinguisher under the drivers seat (A must on any carby Jag). The sterio is a Pioneer unit. Works well. The transmission selector escutcheon needs to be replaced with a turbo 400 version. Could notfind one but its a simple 5 minute job to swap over. It is best to come and view this car. You can see it and whats been done and I have kept all recepts of parts purchased. The original engine and transmission are included in the sale if you want them.
