Toyota : Land Cruiser BJ42

This truck spent all its life in Kelowna BC where it was restored around 2001 by previous owner. I don't think this truck was used for 4X4 after restored. or driven in gravel roads or even in the rain.

I received this truck as part of payment for a Toyota Bainderainte more than a year ago. and I have enjoyed it very much. I have owned a few Land Cruisers myself and I can tell this is a really well preserved truck with a clean frame and body.    When I received this truck I was very excited and amazed of the condition of it. Although it had some minor issues. the truck looked pretty clean and mechanically perfect.

After a few months I decided to fix those small issues; a complete suspension rebuild. with new Poly bushings. u bolts. greasable pins leafs. greasable shackles. shocks and ball joints. I also had the front seats recovered and new front door seals. The original shackles will be included in the sale if the new owner wants them.

This truck is solid rust free with stock diesel components.   Trucks between 1979 and 1983 are the desired land cruisers years with 4 speed transmission. disk brakes. better and prettier doors and overall better design.  

These years appreciate in value the best.  This truck is built to be driven often. being Diesel is reliable. strong. and more economic than the gassers.  

The 3B engine along with the 3BT engines are the best Toyota engines. They are reliable and strong. This little engine has smaller displacement and higher compression. they are also much better on fuel than other diesels.

BODY

This truck is rust free. All the panels are clean. shinny. with not dents or scratches.  There is no sign of any wreck. Land Cruisers are notorious for rust; it is incredible to find rust free trucks like this especially with a healthy frame. The body is true with no rust. The paint is beautiful and shinny. this truck looks much better in person than in the pictures.

 New front door seals. inner door panels are OEM in good shape. it has OEM glass all around. OEM lenses not the aftermarket or bad cheap replicas.

The interior is very clean. it still wears the extra rare set of 4 mats in good shape other than a hole in the drives side. and the rear mat is also OEM. Everything works in the cluster. nbsp; the OEM radio was working when i got the truck but not anymore (i suspect the fuse behind the radio). It also has the rare portable light and owner's manual. The tools. jack. and bars are included.

Mechanicals

This BJ42 has a stock Toyota inline 3B motor with excellent compression that burns clean. It is a low kilometer truck. these engines are known to go over 500. 000 miles easy.   This truck averages 25–28 mpg on the highway and 23-25 in the city constantly.

All the diesel injection and the clutch was checked. as well as the 4 speed trans and case all operate perfectly. Brakes are in good shape.

2 Tires are period correct with 80% tread and 2 tires are the stock dealer tires for the truck. There are no aftermarket installations. therefore no splits on the electrical harness or electrical headaches. This truck runs 24V.

There are no issues with this truck. this is the type of Toyota you want to buy. honest. rust free stock original.  This truck is a joy to drive and will provide years of trouble free service with proper care and maintenance. I've fixed. repaired. and tested everything that needed attention. but please expect to tinker like any other vintage vehicle from time to time. There is nothing pending to do on this truck at this moment.

This truck in registered in Vancouver BC. I will give you a registration and a bill of sale. It is sold “as is” no warranty.

I require $500 non-refundable deposit before 24 hrs of ending auction. Please pay the balance between 8 days but I can held the truck for longer period if needed. This car is parked under heated garage. Inspections are welcome.
