These cars are a fantastic rare drivers cars. and also a top shelf classic Ford investment. extremely hard to find in this fantastic. low mileage. low owner and original condition.
We could talk about this car and its condition all day. but we suggest any serious persons take the time to come and view the vehicle to really appreciate how special this car is.


History

Only 2 previous owners showing on the V5. the last of whom is Mr D. Cachia. who purchased the vehicle in 1991 showing only a little over 17. 00 miles.
Mr D. Cachia used the car sparingly until 1994 when the car was put into heated and covered storage. which is where the car remained until 2015.

A very nice history file compliments this extremely rare and sought after car. with all old MOT's until the point it was put into storage. and of course the most recent MOT pass certificate from September 2015.
The original supplying dealership wallet. along with all original booklets are present and in superb order. including the service booklet which has several stamps.
Various receipts are also within the history file. along with the original Ford spare key.

A lovely history to compliment this stunning vehicle.


Body & Paintwork

The exterior of this RS1600i is superb. the Sunburst red is still extremely vibrant clearly demonstrating correct storage over the years.
RS1600i decals on the bonnet. boot lid and sides are all in great order. with no signs of any damage tto the decals. or ‘end peel'.

The original rear spoiler is perfectly straight and free from common distortion problems. the front ‘skirt' is also in great order. with no signs of it ever having been touched on high kerbs or such. This car does look truly fantastic. it like stepping back into the 80′s and seeing one for the first time.

All the glass. lights and badges. are in great order as you would expect.
Sunroof glides back and fourth and is of course in great condition also.

Rear quarter windows open and close as they should. with nice tight release handles.


Interior & Trim

We all know that the interiors are well known for wearing poorly. with baggy seats. soft bolsters and cracked dashboards being just a few of the common problems.

Well this car has none of these usual interior issues. it is absolutely fantastic.

The seats are still perfectly tight. with no bagginess the best original RS1600i seats we have seen.
Bolsters are rock solid and totally as new.

The dashboard is totally crack free. and in perfect shape with no warping at all. another sign the car has been well stored and covered.

All the front seat mounting brackets. and bolts are without any signs of the common surface corrosion. they are still as new.
The carpets are all still nice and thick. with no rips or stains. along with the original carpet floor mats which are in great order.

Only the headunit has been changed. which is a period change. however the sale does include a new boxed original headunit.
The rear parcel shelf has been changed for a aftermarket shelf with hidden speakers. however this will be changed for a original item.


Engine

Start this car from cold. and it runs as smoothly as you would ever want. idle is lovely and the noise. is crisp and responsive.

Benefiting from a full re-commission by renowned specialist Harvey Gibbs. everything is at it should be.
All belts and fluids have of course been changed. so piece of mind is offered knowing that ‘the best' have checked the car over thoroughly and carried out a comprehensive re-commission.

As can be seen. the car is still sporting the original twin coil set up.
An extremely clean. blemish free engine bay. ready for shows.

The car accelerates smoothly and is an absolute joy to drive. feeling extremely ‘tight' in ever aspect.
The gear changes are exact and very smooth.


Running Gear

Of course. everything is in order in terms of running gear.

The wheels are original. and show no signs of ever being repainted.
The original tyres are still fitted. with good amounts of tread. although we would advise these be changed if the car was to be used.

All suspension is quiet. and the brakes work just as they should.
Aesthetically the underside components are in good order. and demonstrate how well the car has been kept through its life.

The gearbox feels lovely and tight. with nice precise changes on both the up and down shift.
