The first owner was Arthur Hartley. a scion of the Hartley Jam family. It would appear that Arthur also had an interest in the big screen as in 1933 he filed a winding-up petition for Walking Pictures Ltd – the family had earlier connections with cinematography & photography as they were financially involved with Colin Noel Bennett (photographer. Journalist & cinematographer) & his use of the Friese-Greene colour system which produce some of the earlier colour motion pictures. GFT68 only stayed with A. Hartley until 1936 when the 2nd owner is shown as G. R. Hinchcliffe (Kt 1957) – after serving with the RAF during WWI he was called to the Bar in 1924. His career encompassed Ministry of Fuel & Power. Attorney General of Durham. Chancellor of Diocese of Bradford and Hon Fellow of Trinity Hall. Cambridge. The 3rd owner was a lady – Mrs G. Franklin – a keen horsewoman who owned the Woodlands Riding Club in Henley-on-Thames. Then in 1964 the car is shown as being with Lionel Henry Mosse Parsons. whose wife wrote the Ant & Bee children's books (Angela Bennett). Angela & Lionel married in 1941 in Colaba. India – Lionel was stationed in India during WWII & Angela was born in India – her father S. H. M Lincke was a Civil Engineer who had fled Germany prior to WWI and later worked on the Indian Peninsular Railroad. In 1968 the Parsons family formally abandoned the surname of Parsons and adopted that of Maddison.
