Technical specifications, photos and description:
It was first registered on April 25th 1973 by Greenwich Automobiles Ltd. Park Garage. London and sold to solicitors Kidd Rapinet (who still exist today). By September 1980. at seven years old. the Triumph had moved to Oxford where it was purchased by its last owner.
The original owner's handbook and ‘Passport to Service' are still with the car along with a vast history file. We have every bill. receipt and item of paperwork since 1980. We also have every MoT certificate covering the last 35 years indicating that it has never been off the road or allowed to deteriorate. Indeed. the bills show that it has been beautifully maintained – amongst the numerous service receipts. notable work includes replacing the hood. carpets and replacing the front seats with leather trimmed recliners. replacing the differential oil seals. repairing the differential mount and replacing a driveshaft. a cylinder head rebuild and unleaded conversion. a new gearbox and overdrive. a new stainless steel exhaust. new brakes. refurbished wheels with stainless nuts and new wings.
We have known of this car for a number of years. It has always been garaged and as such the chassis is in excellent condition; it is rust free and has never been welded. The body is excellent with no rust and an excellent paint finish. Thanks to the recent replacement of the seats and carpets the interior is very good and. unusually. still retains its original steering wheel and gear knob.
A hard top is also included. which is in excellent condition thanks to a recent repaint in matching Pimento Red.
This TR6 drives superbly. in line with its originality and long-term careful ownership. Its lusty 125BHP engine is the original and runs superbly with excellent oil pressure.
The previous owner took part in several classic rallies in the car during his tenure. The most ambitions of which took the car to Morocco and back without issue.
In summary. this original right-hand drive UK-market TR6 is a superb opportunity for the enthusiast who wants a ready-to-go car in lovely condition with a fantastic history and originality.
