The Bentley Mulsanne is a performance luxury car produced from
1980 until 1992 although derivative models like the Continental T
and Azure continued in production into the 2000s. The name
'Mulsanne' is derived from Bentley's famous racing history which
included five victories at the 24 Hours La Mans between 1924 and
1930 - the 'Mulsanne Straight' being the stretch of the Le Mans
racecourse where cars reach their highest speeds. The new Bentley
promised to epitomise the very spirit of Bentley motoring by
offering ample performance combined with complete comfort; the
Mulsanne Turbo was launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1982 and
produced until 1985. There was a 50% increase in power thanks to
the Garrett Airesearch turbocharger while the interior featured the
usual highly polished walnut veneered fascia. blemish-free leather
and carpets and headlining of pure wool.

This Bentley Mulsanne Turbo has only covered an incredible 3. 78
miles from new. It was purchased from Jack Barclay Limited in
Berkley Square on the 25th May 1983 by Mr. Archibald D. Kelly. of
Kilmacolm. who worked in shipbuilding; indeed. he owned shipyards
in both Glasgow and Belfast. He purchased two Rolls-Royce
Cars and another Bentley at the same time and all four cars were
pampered and kept in his heated garage with parquet flooring.
At the time of purchase. he had the private registration number ADK
1 assigned to this Mulsanne. In 2002 Mr. Kelly sold the Bentley to
his friend Mr. D. Blair. a local coal merchant; at which time the
Bentley had an odometer reading of just 2. 88 miles equating to a
mere 115. 2 miles per annum in the 19 years of Mr. Kelly's
ownership. The Bentley has been garaged all of its life and only
been driven to the MoT testing garage over the last few years.
Whilst in Mr. Blair's ownership. he added just 349 miles in eleven
years which equates to a mere 31. 2 miles per annum. The vendor
bought the car in 2013 with 2. 37 miles on the odometer and since
then has only increased the mileage by a further 541 miles.
Finished in Cotswold beige with cream leather interior and top
roll. this stunning Turbo is supplied with a V5C registration
document. an MoT test certificate which expires in March 2016. a
complete tool kit and handbook pack. This unique Bentley Mulsanne
is in showroom condition.
