1977 Daimler Double Six Van den Plas. one of only circa 200 cars hand finished by Jaguar in 1977. featuring special more luxurious interiors. additional insulation. metallic paintwork and vinyl roof. This car is finished in it's original colour of Amethyst with Deep Olive leather interior. Car has always been dry stored and it's superb condition shows this. Not a spec of rust nor mark on this car and she is mechanically perfect starting on the button even after sitting for her long winters rest. A delight to drive with a very modern feel and superb power from her 5. 3 litre V12. She purrs like a big cat should. The new owner will not be disappointed with this car and I have set a very reasonable price of £9750 for this motor and will not entertain offers much lower as this is the best Double Six in the country and I have more than double that invested in her. As she is going up in value I'm not in a rush to sell. Car will be given a full service before new owner takes possession. Viewing highly recommended but please no tyre kickers. I won't sell her cheap so let's not waste each others time if you want a cheap one please look elsewhere.

Some History:

Originally bought as a company car by the Bank of Boston in 1977. London. the car was given to the director who had use of the car a few years later and he adored the car. even keeping a heated blanket over it in the garage during winter months. When the director returned to the US in the eighties he was offered a ridiculous low amount for the car by his local Jaguar dealer so he gave the car to a friend instead. The car remained with said friend who stored the car a number of years then recommissioned the vehicle and gave to his son. His son kept the car and MOT'd/ serviced the car every year but hardly drove it. Once the father passed on the son sold the car to myself. I've owned and enjoyed this car since 2002. The car. at this stage. still was completely original and had run only some 40k miles. After a thorough mechanical sort out. (new bushes. hoses. vac advance. braking system. radiator. aircon. alternator. starter. shock absorbers. all the usual recommisioning items). it was decided that the original 1977 paintwork was too tired to preserve any longer and the car was taken to Southern Classics in 2004/2005 for a bare metal respray in it's original colour of Amethyst Metalic at a cost of £12. 00. full photographs of rebuild available. All chrome work was re plated and interior was freshened with a new headliner and new Wilton Wool carpets at this time.

My wife and I have enjoyed this car extensively. being a regular fixture in the annual Jaguar Drivers Club Regularity Rally. winning it's class on a few occasions as well as taking part in multiple Jaguar displays including at the prestigious Fete Champetre at the Hurlingham Club. Unfortunately. too many cars and limited storage means I am selling this delightful car.

This car is in sublime condition and has an immaculate history including every single service and repair invoice from new.  Comes complete with JDHC heritage certificate.
