Daimler Six 4. 0litre SWB (Jaguar X300) XJ

For sale my Daimler Six 4. 0litre SWB 95MY  X300 model. It has its original 4 litre Straight Six AJ16 aluminium engine that's covered 112K miles and has the 4 speed electronic switchable gearbox. The colour is Sapphire Blue with a cream full leather  interior and coffee facia. I have owned this car for 3 years and in that time used it as my weekend/holiday car using it to travel on the continent many times. It has always been garaged by me when not in use and has never been driven on winter roads. This is not the usual rubbish for sale but a genuine well looked after usable car with no rust or leaks and drives as if it came out of the factory.

It took my 2 years to find this vehicle originally as it is a rare short wheelbase Daimler model.

Being a Daimler model this car is fully loaded with all the optional extras  and includes a new Alpine CD/IPOD/Tuner Stereo. even the original electric aerial is in place and it works as should. The interior is unmarked and every electronic option works as it should including the climate control. The leather is in first class condition with no rips. tears or scuffs and is regularly fed to keep supple. even the headlining is in place. All the Burr walnut is in again in first class condition. matching with no cracks or damage and this includes the picnic tables in the back. This model has the drinks cabinet set into the rear seats and I also have the original crystal decanters and glasses.

The Exterior is in good condition except for one or 2 small stone chips on the bonnet . the usual age related small scratches on the bodywork and unfortunately a small crack in the driver's side front bumper. (Recently caused by me driving  out of my garage. Sorry no picture yet but will upload one asap and email if required in meantime) This does not detract from the car and if I was going to keep the car I would have had this repaired this summer when the weather became warmer. All four wheels are the original Daimler Turbine style alloys with a full size spare in the boot and are unmarked. The exhaust is the correct stainless steel full system. All the original chrome and stainless bright work on the exterior is in place. unmarked and in perfect condition.

I have looked after this car myself meticulously servicing it fully on a regular basis.

I have both sets of original keys with working key fobs and the green Valet key. I also have all the books for this car. the original sales brochure.  a full set of workshop manuals.  the full and correct tool box located in the engine bay and the original first aid kit all included with the car.

The MOT runs until August 2013 and its road taxed until March 2014. I currently drive this on a fully comp insurance on a Classic 6K per year policy with Lancaster Insurance and it has a £5400 agreed value with them (Proof is available to be shown). The cost to me a 36yo Male is £220 per year.

I am only selling as I have been offered a MK2 Jaguar style 1960s Daimler V8-250 and need the money from this sale to put towards purchasing it. If I had a choice I really would not sell this as it's been my favourite car.

Please contact me if you have any questions or to arrange a viewing.

I am a genuine private seller with excellent feedback

I like the look of the car and the description reads well. It will be a long drive from Wiltshire to see it so I would like to know as much as I can before asking to view. Can you tell me anything more; and let me know the VRM so I can look up the MOT history? I already own a 1971 Daimler Sovereign and an XJS with the AJ16 and do all my own maintenance - I am a genuine enquirer. Robin
