Welcome to the sale of My 1931 MG M-type Midget.
This is a very rare car and is registered with the MG car club's tipple M register.
It is a matching Chassis . Engine and registration number car
This car was made before the war in 1931 and came out of the Abingdon factory as Chassis number 2683 with engine number 2474 (850cc) and registered as GO 4004.
This car was made with Fabric covered wood frame for only two years and is very rare. Only an estimated 150 cars are thought to have survived. I personally think after seeing many M-types on the road to day mine is up there with the best in the world.
This car has gone through seven year restoration with full nut and bolt documentation. The restoration costs were alone in excess of £40. 00 . The cars Was restored by a family friend who is an engineer with an eye for detail. Most of the work.
There is a book which comes with the car detailing the history of the restoration and providing the details of companies used ( recommended by the MG car club )for the out sourced work . eg. engine rebuild . Body etc.
The car starts and drives and is 100% complete with its UK registration document.
In 1933 the cars were then being produced by the factory with a 4 speed gearboxes. The thing to do in its day was to up date your three speed to a four. This has been done and we still have its original three speed box and prop which comes with the sale of the car. Viewing is essential to appreciate this car.
