JAGUAR MK2 3.8 MOD SALOON - OUTSTANDING, VERY ORIGINAL CAR !!

The Jaguar MK2 was launched in 1959. With sports-car manners and classic looks the car was an instant success. For many years the 3. 8 was the fastest saloon car in the world with a top speed of 125mph and the 3. 4 version was not far behind.

This car is a 1966 3. 8 manual with power steering in red with a cream interior. It is in outstanding condition and is certainly the best MK2 we have owned or sold. The body is completely original. the doors. boot. bonnet and wings have never been replaced or welded. the underside is in matching order and the chrome is all original. The paint is clearly not original but is to the very highest standard and virtually flawless. The engine is also original to the car and to the best of our knowledge has never been re-built or re-bored. It runs well with strong oil pressure. As a 1966 model this MK2 benefits from the later “4-syncro” gearbox that made its debut in the “E” type in 1964. PAS is also fitted to this car.

In addition to fine looks. this MK2 also drives very well and has been comprehensively maintained over the years. It is also fitted with various acceptable upgrades which transform the driving experience - three piston front brakes with matching discs (Jaguar 420). Spax adjustable rear shocks (re-painted in the correct grey) re-trimmed interior with XJ6 front seats. Harvey Bailey front anti-roll bar. stainless exhaust. poly-bushed rear end. stainless exhaust. “Coombes” rear arches and chrome wires with new Dunlop SP Sport matching tyres. The interior leather re-trim is excellent and the door cards. headlining and carpets were supplied by BAS International. the front belts are custom made an a "Derrington" steering wheel is fitted. First registered in 1966. this MK2 was originally on a “D” plate – the registration number UJA38 is a personal and transferable number but it goes with the car.

This low ownership MK2 is known to us for several years and known to the last owner (a classic Jaguar technician and a regular customer ) for several decades. In our opinion. its condition and originality make it the best RHD 3. 8 MK2 extant - but that's just our opinion. some may prefer a fully re-built car. One thing is certain. as an investment. original cars come out on top. Comes with interesting history file and original MK2 toolkit.
