1978 Classic Range Rover 3 Door

The majority of this Range Rover's life has been spent with just one very enthusiastic owner…. a staggering 30 years (1982 to 2012) and has ensured that it wanted for absolutely nothing.

The paintwork is in wonderful condition and apart from a few touch-up's here and there. is. we understand completely original. Servicing has been entrusted in the main to just one garage and the owner himself.

Some nice upgrades have been added along the way. namely a Fairly Overdrive (working on 3rd & 4th) stainless steel exhaust. oil cooler and power steering. Range Rovers are notorious for sagging roof linings. this car being no exception. a bespoke one was made…. it's very 70's chic and suits the car.

On the road the V8 performs exceptionally well. transmission noise is remarkably subdued especially when the overdrive is engaged. whilst the assisted steering is direct and light with no play. The engine compartment has recently been refreshed and new suspension bushes fitted. The odometer shows 1. 84 (101. 84 miles although you would never believe it). The V8 engine was fully rebuilt 10. 00 miles ago. The chassis and body are completely solid.

In addition to the new MOT just issued there are original certificates going back until 1986 along with her dealer supplied Service Passport (rare). hand book and Shell service record. One item that is nice to see is the extendable fuel filler neck. normally lost at this age. these made refilling from a jerry-can a cinch. Finally there is a great article in ‘Retro Classic Magazine' written last year profiling the car and its long standing companion.

The car can be inspected in Guildford but viewing is by prior appointment – please call Julien 07788 865700.
